Christmas Shaker Card feat. Season To Sparkle Card Kit -- Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, crafty friends!  I had so much fun making this holiday card with products from Honey Bee Stamps beautiful new Season To Sparkle Card Kit!  The products in the kit are so versatile for your holiday card making.  The kit products work beautifully with products from the recent Holiday Charm release and also with older products from your stash!

All of the products, except for three items, are included in this beautiful Season To Sparkle Card Kit.  Those are the Lovely Layers: Winter Greenery dies, the Laurel Wishes Layering Frames dies and the Holiday Charm paper pad.

I began by creating the card base, layers, and shaker portion.  I die cut five of the two largest Laurel Wishes Layering Frames dies from white cardstock.  Then I used the outer die to cut acetate for the shaker portion.  I used my scissors to trim away the outer frame to leave just the inner portion.  I glued this piece of acetate to the back of one of the Laurel Wishes Layering Frames die cut.

Next I glued the other four Layering Frames die cuts together using Bee Creative glue.  I chose this pretty patterned paper from the Holiday Charm paper pad, cut it in half to measure 4-¼" x 5-½" and glued it to one of the pre-folded card bases included in the kit.

Then I glued the stack of Laurel Wishes Layering Frames to the card base.  I put some of the beautiful embellishments from the Limited Edition Sequin Pack into the center of the stacked frames.  There are larger pearls included in the sequin mix that I pulled out to use another time.

I added glue to the back of the Layering Frame with the acetate and glued it on top of the other frames to seal the shaker portion.

Next I did all of my die cutting.  First I used Hive Hues cardstock included in the Season To Sparkle Card Kit, plus a light mint green cardstock from my stash, to die cut the layers for the ornament in the Lovely Layers: Vintage Ornament die set.  You will receive a Layering Guide for these ornaments showing just some of the many possibilities for each one.

I used more of the same cardstock colors to cut the pine branches, holly leaves, and the branch and berries from the Lovely Layers: Winter Greenery dies.  I used Bee Creative Glue to adhere the Ornament layer together and to adhere the Winter Greenery pieces to the card.

In the kit you also receive a very generous sized container of Distress Rock Candy Crystal Clear Glitter.  I added glue in fine line here and there on the greenery and berries.  Then I sprinkled on some of the Rock Candy glitter.  Tip: Use glue that's in a fine tipped bottle (linked below) for easy application in fine lines.  I love adding sparkle to my Christmas cards!!!

The sentiments are also from the Kit.  I die cut the beautiful bright red cardstock three times with the Bee Spoken: Merry die and glued the layers together.  I stamped the sentiment from the Merry Additions stamp set in a coordinating red.  Then I cut it out with the coordinating Merry Additions die.

I glued the "Merry" sentiment to the card and popped up "Christmas" with foam strips.

I super amazed by how much product comes in the Season To Sparkle Card Kit! A lot of the products in this kit would coordinate beautifully with the, still available, Christmas In July A2 Card Kit!

Love & Joy This Holiday Season -- Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, crafty friends!  Have you seen Honey Bee Stamps' new Holiday Charm Release?  It is absolutely wonderful!  Today I've used some of the new goodies including the beautiful Lovely Layers: Christmas Botanicals and the Laurel Wishes stamp set.

I started by choosing the Lovely Layers: Christmas Botanicals dies for my card.  I cut a medium and a dark green cardstock and white cardstock with the dies.  For the leaf branches I used two darker shades of Distress Inks (Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness) to add shading to the leaves.  Then I used my blending brushes to add a light green ink and pink ink to the berries and berry branches.

Then I chose this beautiful patterned paper from the Holiday Charm paper pack.  After I trimmed it to 4" x 5-¼" I used Bee Creative Glue to adhere it to my A2 card base.

Before I arranged my Christmas Botanicals on the card, I used two of the smaller dies in the Laurel Wishes Layering Frames die set.  The bottom layer is die cut from the green cardstock in the new Hive Hues Holiday Charm cardstock pack.  I stamped the greenery image from the Laurel Wishes stamp set onto the layer with dark green ink.  I love how this stamp is all one piece and sized perfectly for this layer.  (I know the stamping doesn't show a lot, but I feel it does add just a bit more interest to the layering.)

After I die cut white cardstock with the smallest Laurel Wishes Layering Frames set, I stamped a sentiment from the Laurel Wishes stamp set onto it with dark green ink.  There is a coordinating Laurel Wishes die set for all of the beautiful stamped images--be sure to check it out!

I glued the green stamped layer to the card.  Then I decided on an arrangement for the Christmas Botanicals and use glue to adhere the pieces to the card.  I added just a bit of foam tape to the sentiment layer to adhere it to the card.

I felt the card needed just a bit more, and the bow from the Christmas Botanicals dies was just perfect! 

I love the Lovely Layers: Christmas Botanicals die set.  This is such a versatile set that could be used year round for your card making.

Merry Little Christmouse -- Honey Bee Stamps Holiday Charm Release

Hello, friends, and happy Monday!  Today we are having an Instagram hop, with prizes, to celebrate Honey Bee Stamps Holiday Charm Release!  This release is filled with cute holiday images and beautiful florals for your holiday cards!

The focal point of my holiday card is the adorable little mouse and snowman image from the new Merry Christmouse stamp set.  There are five more super cute images in this stamp set along with lots of sweet sentiments (with coordinating dies) for lots of options.

After I colored the image with my Copic markers, I cut it out with the coordinating Merry Christmouse die. 

This is a 5" x 7" card.  Not necessary for the Christmouse image, of course, but I wanted to feature the beautiful new Framed In Holiday 3D embossing folder and the coordinating Lovely Layouts: Framed In Holiday die set.  I used two of the six dies in this set.  First to cut out the large layer on the card base.  After I die cut the white cardstock, I placed it into the Framed In Holiday embossing folder, held the paper in place with removable tape, and ran it through my die cutting machine.

Next I die cut the layer just behind the main image with another die from the Framed In Holiday dies.  You can also emboss this with the Framed In Holiday embossing folder, but I kept it smooth for my background.  I used my scissors to cute scrap paper to use as a mask while I inked on blue inks for the sky/clouds.  I used Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass Distress inks.

Next I added white opaque watercolor splatters, let that dry, then popped the piece up with foam adhesive onto my card.  I used foam adhesive to adhere the Christmouse image to the panel.  The little berry sprig at the top is from the new Lovely Layers: Christmas Botanicals.  I added a little bow at the top and the sentiment at the bottom of the panel to finish up.

Quilted Home For The Holidays -- Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, crafty friends!  With October over half over, I need to get going on my holiday cards to send!  Last week, I made an autumn card with the Honey Bee Stamps Bee Quilted: Honeycomb Hexies Honey Cuts and I mentioned that I wanted to make a holiday card with this set.

I couldn't get that out of my mind, so today's card is my holiday version of the Bee Quilted: Honeycomb Hexies!  This card's top folding piece is actually the Honeycomb Hexies top layer--keep reading to see more and steps to create your own.

I started by choosing this beautiful patterned paper from the Make It Merry paper pad.  (Check out the paper organizer that's included!)  I die cut the paper by placing smaller pieces of this paper over the larger stitched Honeycomb Hexies die.  There are two other smaller die cuts attached to this larger honeycomb die, but I just wanted the larger one.  I repeated this five more times until I had six patterned paper honeycomb pieces.

Using the same die (with the three stitched dies) I die cut red cardstock by placing just the other two die cuts over the paper.  As before, I repeated this until I had six sets.

After I die cut white cardstock with the Honeycomb Hexies large grid die and the outer single base die, I used Bee Creative glue to adhere the two layers together.  Then I glued all of the Bee Quilted die cuts into the grid pattern.

I have to say that having the new Bee Creative Platinum Scout right beside me to cut these small die cuts was SO good!  Honestly, I didn't think I would use this small die cutter all that much, but I have totally changed my mind on that!

Next I die cut shades of green cardstocks and red cardstock with some of the dies in the Lovely Layers: Mini Holiday Florals die set.  I glued the layers together, and added white gel pen highlights to the berries.

Next are the steps to create the unique fold for the Honeycomb Hexies layers:

• Emboss one A2 sized white cardstock panel with the Snowflakes 3D embossing folder.
• Trim a scrap of white cardstock to 2-½" x ½".  Score the strip at ¼" with a stylus and score board.
• Fold in half, add glue to one side and adhere to the back of the Honeycomb Hexies panel.
• Add glue to the inside of the other half of the strip and adhere to the back side of the Snowflakes embossed panel.  (Center the Honeycomb panel horizontally over the embossed panel.)
• Glue a plain A2 white cardstock panel to the back of the embossed panel.  This will hide the flap.
• Cut another base of the Honeycomb Hexies, trim a sliver off of one edge (this will facilitate the folding of the panel) and glue to the back of the quilted piece.

To add a smooth surface for the inside sentiment, die cut another Honeycomb Hexies base.  Trim each edge by ¼".  Then I stamped a sentiment from the Home For The Holidays stamp set onto the panel.  Place this face down on the back side of the card top, center it, add glue, then fold the embossed down.  Wait a minute for the glue to set.  Now you have a centered panel under the Honeycomb Hexies card front.

The sentiment on the front is also in the Home For The Holidays stamp set.  After I stamped it in black pigment ink, I cut it out with the coordinating die.  I used some foam adhesive to adhere it to the card front.

I absolutely love how this turned out!!  Now I'm thinking ahead to a Bee Quilted: Honeycomb Hexies card for spring--soft floral patterned paper, pastel cardstock--I think I would like that too!  What do you think?

Quilted Autumn Friendship Card -- Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, crafty friends!  When I first saw this new Bee Quilted: Honeycomb Hexies Honey Cuts by Honey Bee Stamps, I knew I wanted to create a quilted autumn themed card!  I love the warm and rich colors of autumn and a few papers from the newer Acorn & Ember paper pad and one from the Fall Is In The Air paper pad helped me create this beautiful autumn card!

I began by creating my "quilt" with the Bee Quilted: Honeycomb Hexies dies.  I die cut the base with cardstock from the Hive Hues Acorn & Ember paper pack.  I used a piece of the dark orange that you see here on the card.  I doesn't show but I chose this for two reasons: 1) it's a 100 lb. cardstock that will add stability to the patterned paper, and 2) I was afraid that white cardstock might show through.

Next I die cut one of the, what I call ornate hexies, three times, from paper in the Acorn & Ember paper pad.  Then I proceeded to die cut more paper from the Acorn & Ember paper pad with the single die that cuts three shapes.  (You will have extras to use on more cards!)  The floral paper you see is in the Fall Is In The Air paper pad.

I die cut more paper from the Acorn & Ember pad with the die that cuts the intricate border of the quilted look.  Again, you will get lots of extras to use in another project.

I LOVED having the new Bee Creative Platinum Scout die cutting machine beside me for these small die cuts!!

Then I glued this piece to the base and filled in all of the other pieces in the grid with Bee Creative glue.

I wrapped some twine I have twice around the Honeycomb Hexies piece and tied it into a bow.  I added foam tape to the back to adhere it to my A2 card base.

The detailed elements are from the Lovely Layers: Autumn Bouquet Honey Cuts, except the flower.  It's in the In Stitches: Pumpkin Honey cuts.  I added a bit of shading to the flower layers and green stems.  (I had saved the wheat stems and the cotton bole stem from a previous project!). I used Bee Creative glue to arrange and adhere the pieces to the card.  I added a double thick layer of small pieces of foam strips to the flower so it would fit over the knot of the twine bow.

I pulled out a scrap of the orange cardstock in the Acorn & Ember cardstock pack and stamped a sentiment from the Keepsake Sentiments: Fall stamp set with black pigment ink.  After I cut it out with the coordinating die, I added foam strips to the back to adhere it to the card.

I am so pleased with how my quilted card turned out, and hope you are too!  There are so many ways to use the Bee Quilted: Honeycomb Hexies for all seasons.  Do you think I should make one with holiday themed papers?

Hope You're Feeling Honky-Dory -- Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, crafty friends!  I'm still having so much fun playing with Honey Bee Stamps' new Lovely Layers: Porch Goose from the new Fashionably Feathered release!  Today I've dressed this cute goose in an outfit from the Porch Goose Closet: Spring Honey Cuts. 

I made the background for the Goose with the Rustic Brick 3D embossing folder and a panel of white cardstock.  I used Bee Creative Glue to adhere the embossed piece to an A2 card base.  I hand cut a grassy hill from green cardstock and glued that to the card.

I die cut the Lovely Layers: Porch Goose from white cardstock.  I used a few Copic markers to color the beak, eye, cheek, and legs.  I die cut most of the images on this card with the awesome, new Platinum Scout die cutting machine.

Next I die cut various papers with the dies from the Porch Goose Closet: Spring from yellow cardstock, purple cardstock from the Hive Hues Garden Party cardstock pack and patterned paper from the Garden Party paper pad.

I used glue to adhere the Goose's layers together and added foam adhesive to the back to adhere it to the card.

The flowers are the small version of the Lovely Layers: Coneflower that's included with Honey Bee's brand new Platinum Scout die cutting machine.  I would estimate that the dies with the machine are about ½ the size of the original.  Check out this photo I took last week:

It's the cutest little die cutting machine!  I love the teal color and the bees and flowers that are on all sides of it.

I die cut the coneflower from white cardstock with the new Scout die cutting machine.  Then I used some purple and yellow inks and blending brushes to color the layers.  I used glue and foam adhesive to adhere the flowers to the card.  If you don't have these there are several choices in this link.  Any of the smaller flowers would be perfect!

I stamped a sentiment from the Silly Goose stamp set in black pigment ink.  Then I cut it out with the coordinating Silly Goose die.  I used foam strips to adhere the sentiment to the card.

Merry Goose-mas -- Honey Bee Stamps Porch Goose

Hello, crafty friends!  Did you see the new Fashionably Feathered mini release by Honey Bee Stamps?  Today we are having an inspirational Instagram hop with a $50 gift card issued to two winners.  Join us, leave comments, and love for your chance to win!

The theme is all around this adorable Lovely Layers: Porch Goose.  Until now, I had no clue what a "porch goose" is!  Evidently it used to be a trend and that trend is now coming back!  Do you know about these porch goose figures?

Let me start out with the photo of my Porch Goose that is pictured with this amazing new product!  This is the new Honey Bee Stamps x Spellbinders Platinum Scout die cutting machine!  I absolutely love the teal color and the images of the daisies and bees that are on all sides of the machine.  I did an unboxing reel that I shared on Instagram, and guess what?  I actually did a voice over!!  Check it out here!

Now onto my card and some details!!  This adorable Lovely Layers: Porch Goose has two accessory sets:  Porch Goose Closet: Winter and the Porch Goose Closet: Spring.  There are also two different sentiment sets to coordinate with the seasons.  One is the Silly Goose stamp set and the Rainy Day Smiles stamp set.  Of course, both have coordinating die sets.

My card features the Lovely Layers: Porch Goose with the Porch Goose Closet: Winter.  Depending on what colors you choose for your cardstock, you could make a Thanksgiving card, Christmas card, or just a general winter card.  I die cut two of the geese because I wanted to dress one in the cute girlie outfit!

I used a few Copic markers to add just a bit of shading to some of my Porch Goose die cut pieces.

Next I created the 5" x 7" card layers by embossing a piece of 4-¾" x 4-¼" white cardstock with the Snowflakes 3D embossing folder.  I used a blending brush to color it with Tumbled Glass Distress ink.

I embossed green cardstock with the Burlap 3D embossing folder and used my scissors to trim it with hills on the top edge.  I inked the edges of the green cardstock with Rustic Wilderness Distress ink.  Then I glued the two embossed pieces together and then glue the panel to my card base.

The trees are from the Lovely Layers: Trees die set.  After gluing the layers together, I diluted some white opaque watercolor and used a fan paint brush to add white splatters.

The sentiment is from the Silly Goose stamp set and cut out with the coordinating die.

I added some white gel pen accents to the trees and geese

Counting My Blessings...And You're One Of Them

Hello, crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing this acorn-shaped card I made with Honey Bee Stamps awesome Acorn Card Base Honey Cuts!  Shaped cards are always so fun for your recipient and I don't think I've ever seen one like this!  Bonus: it easily fits into an A2 sized envelope!

First I created the Acorn Card Base by cutting some brown cardstock with the dies in the set.  I used ink blending brushes to add more color using Ground Espresso and Vintage Photo Distress Inks.

There is a separate die in the Acorn Card Base set that you can use to cut a folded white card panel into a shaped card base.  Just be sure to place the upper cutting edge of the die just above the fold of the card base.  Then I used Bee Creative Glue to adhere the layers together and to the card base.

Next I used some of the elements in the Display Box: Fall Add-On Honey Cuts to create the card detail images.  I also used the sunflower and a leaf die that's in the In Stitches: Pumpkin die set.  I cut these all from various colored cardstocks including orange, green, white, and a golden yellow.  I used ink blending brushes and more Distress Inks to give the leaves and other elements more color.  I used these Distress Inks:  Fossilized Amber, Rusty Hinge, Aged Mahogany, Fired Brick, Mowed Lawn, and Rustic Wilderness.

I used a black pen to color in the ladybug's dots and the lines on the butterfly.  Then I used glue to adhere the layers together, where needed.  I used glue and foam adhesive to adhere the elements to the Acorn Card Base card.

Next I stamped two sentiments from the Keepsake Sentiments: Fall stamp set with clear embossing ink onto more brown cardstock.  I added brass embossing powder to the sentiments and set it with my heat tool.  Then I cut them out with the coordinating Keepsake Sentiments: Fall dies.  (These are also available in a stamp and die set bundle.)

I glued one of the sentiments on the inside of the card.  I tucked in an extra leaf I had under the sentiment.  I like the touch of color this adds!

I used foam strips to adhere the other sentiment to the front of the card.

There are so many ways you could embellish this adorable Acorn Card Base!  I sure hope you've been inspired to try making your own acorn-shaped card--they are so fun!

Warm Wishes Autumn Card With Stencils and Embossing -- Honey Bee Stamps

Hello crafty friends!  Does it feel like fall where you are?  Where I am it's still hot as blazes so I'm channeling all the autumn feels inside my craft room!  I filled this card featuring Honey Bee Stamps  Gather & Give Thanks stamp set, coordinating dies, and stencil set with warm autumn colors and gold touches.  Keep reading for all of the fun details!

You can also purchase a bundle of the Gather & Give Thanks stamp set, dies, and stencil set or the Gather & Give Thanks stamp set and dies.

If you've seen my stenciled cards before, you may remember that I like to stencil first, then stamp the image.  I began with white cardstock and the first of the seven stencils in the Gather & Give Thanks stencil set.  I used ink blending brushes to add 2-3 shades of purple, yellow, and green inks I have in my stash.

Be sure to use a stamp positioning tool for this next step.  I placed the stenciled Gather & Give Thanks piece into my MISTI.  Then I carefully positioned the Gather & Give Thanks stamp over the stenciling, then picked it up with the MISTI door.  Next I placed a piece of acetate over the image, then inked up the stamp with black ink and stamped it onto the acetate.  If the stamped image lines up with the stenciling, remove the acetate and stamp it again over the floral image.

Next I cut it out with the coordinating Gather & Give Thanks die.

For the A2 card base layer, I chose a piece of beautiful merlot cardstock from the Hive Hues Acorn & Ember cardstock pack.  I embossed an 4-¼" x 5-½" piece with the Fall Leaves 3D embossing folder.

I knew I wanted to color the white edges of the Gather & Give Thanks floral to match the merlot cardstock.  I was super happy to discover that the R59 Copic marker was almost a perfect match!!

I added some beautiful gold metallic watercolor splatters to the Fall Leaves embossed panel and just a few splatters to the Gather & Give Thanks floral.

Since I did not want a white sentiment with these rich autumn colors, I stamped two of the sentiments that are included in the Gather & Give Thanks stamp set onto merlot cardstock with clear embossing ink.  (Be sure to treat the cardstock with your anti-static tool first.)  I added polished gold embossing powder and used my heat tool to set the powder.  I cut the sentiments out with the coordinating dies.

To finish up, I added black foam tape adhesive to the back of the floral image and the sentiments to adhere them to the card base.

I love the rich colors and gold splatters of this card with the Gather & Give Thanks sets!  I hope you've been inspired by this!

Here's a peek at the Holly Jolly Frames stamp and dies:

I kept this card simple and elegant by stamping the Holly Jolly Frames images with clear embossing ink.  Then I sprinkled on this beautiful gold embossing powder and heat set it.  Then I cut out the images with the coordinating dies.

I cut white cardstock into a 2-¾" square.  Using my MISTI, I planned on where to stamp the sentiment.  I repeated the steps for the gold heat embossing.

I created a coordinating gold-edged layer for the white square by swiping the clear embossing ink pad around the edges of a 3" square, adding the gold embossing powder, and heat setting it.  I glued this behind the white square.

I cut pieces of foam tape to adhere behind the frame to pop it up.  I did the same for the berries/leaves image.

I embossed white cardstock with this beautiful Snowflake embossing folder.  I glued it to my A2 card base and then glued the Holly Jolly Frames panel to the card.
