Honey Bee Cheerful Love Blog Hop

The Honey Bee Stamps Cheerful Love Release is now available in the store!  To celebrate the new release, we are having a two day blog hop called Cheerful Love.  So please hop along with us both days to be inspired!

Be sure to visit each blog and leave a comment to be entered to win!!  Honey Bee Stamps will be giving away two $50 gift cards to the Honey Bee Stamps store, one from each day.  The winners will be posted on Honey Bee's blog Tuesday, February 27th.  The complete list of the hop for Day 1 is below.

I'm so happy to be joining in on the Honey Bee Stamps new release blog hop!

Did you know that platypuses (yep, that's the plural) are only found in freshwater areas throughout the island of Tasmania and the eastern and southeastern coast of Australia?  Here's another interesting fact:  males have a spur on the back of their hind feet that are venomous! (source: Live Science).

Well, let me introduce you to Penny!  No venom here, only sweet and adorable cuteness!!!

This cute girl is relaxing in the sparkling, swirling waters with her yummy beverage!  I colored her with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  After heat embossing the beautiful Ocean Borders background stamp with white embossing powder, I colored it using three Spectrum Noir sparkle pens in Teacup, Topaz Blue, and Clear.

Penny is popped up onto an action wobbler!  Check out her action!  So much fun!

I sure hope you've enjoyed meeting adorable Penny!  Thank you so very much for hopping with us today!  Don't forget to leave a comment on each blog to increase your chances at one of the Honey Bee Stamps gift card!

Be sure to visit each of these blogs to see their beautiful creations using this new release:

Twofer Card Challenge #2 - Hearts

This challenge is to use the same stamp/die on two different cards in two totally different ways.  I think my two cards here meet that challenge!  You can find all of the info for the Twofer Card Challenge HERE.

The Wedding Wishes card uses the leftover negative pieces from the Simon Says Stamp die called Bramble Heart.  I used my Distress Oxide inks to shade them before piecing them into place on an embossed heart background.

For the second card I colored the die cut with alcohol markers.  I also used the die to cut windows into the card stock and mounted all onto a folded clear acetate card for the see-through effect.  I sent this card to one of our daughters for Valentine's Day and she loved it!!

Here are a couple more looks:

Both of these cards are also entered into Flickr's LOVE--Handmade Cards group Challenge #26-Anything Goes.

Thank you very much for stopping by to take a look!

Supplies:
Simon Says Stamp Bramble Heart die
We R Memory Keepers embossing folder, hearts

Sending Blessings

I love finding unusual ways to use some of my favorite stamps and dies!  I've made an elegant card that could be for a wedding or anniversary using some of my favorite Honey Bee Stamps products!

I foiled the bottom layer of the Hexagon Cover Plate die in a rose gold foil.  I used a cream colored card stock that I liked better than white to go with the foiling.

Here is an angled photo that shows all the beautiful shine!

Here are a few pics of the foiling process.  I used a double-sided adhesive on card stock to adhere the foil.

I really appreciate you taking a look!

Here are the supplies I used:
Honey Bee Stamps/dies:  Hexagon Cover Plate dies, Country Blooms; A2 Double-Stitched Frames; Sending You Sentiments
Other:  Heidi Swapp Rose Gold foil; I blended 2 embossing powders: Simon Says Stamp Ultra Fine Rose Gold & Sparkle N Sprinkle Copper; Bazzill vellum
