Week 2 - Art Impressions Challenge #239 - Treat Bags!!

Hello to you all!  It is Week 2 of Art Impressions' Treat Bag challenge.  The challenge is to make treat bags!  Your treat bags can be for any occasion at all:  birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas--well you get the picture!

I'm using images from the new Halloween Magic Set to create my matching set of treat bags, two ways, plus a matching card.  Wouldn't these be fun to give to that very special little trick or treater?!

For my first treat bag I've used a small kraft bag to hang my tag on.  I've used a metal clip so the recipient can remove the tag and read the sentiment you have written on the back.

My next treat bag is using a cellophane bag.  I've attached my stamped image panel to a flap that closes the bag with goodies inside.  For this label, I've colored the word Halloween to look like candy corn!

Finally, I have a matching card that could be used with a treat bag, or just given by itself!

I hope you've found some inspiration here and will join us in our Treat Bag Challenge!!!

Sending Hugs!

Thought I'd actually do a little blog post for this Honey Bee Stamps card I've posted on Instagram today!  I want to share a tip that will make creating with little die cuts like this a bit easier!

I'm sure those of you reading this know about the trick to use Press N Seal to press down onto your arranged pieces.  Well, these pieces are pretty small and there's quite a few of them to arrange.  They kept slipping and sliding when I was playing with ideas.  I finally thought to lay the Press N Seal sticky side up and stick my pieces in various places till I was happy with the arrangement.  (You can see how I taped the Press N Seal down so it wouldn't move.)  I then took a photo with my phone and referred to it when actually gluing them to the card panel!  This made it so much easier!

I used a stylus and a foam pad to shape the flowers and leaves for dimension.  I really love taking just plain white card stock and creating something bright and cheerful like this!

If you actually are reading here at the end, I thank you very much!  Have a wonderful day!

Carol :)

Week 2 - Art Impressions Challenge #238: Card & Envelope

Hi crafty friends!  It's Week 2 of the Card and Envelope Challenge over at Art Impressions!

My card here is using the fun and masculine set called Reel Great Guys Set!  This is just perfect for any man, especially those that love to fish!  Did you know that you can pick up this set, and the Spring Chicken set, at your local Hobby Lobby?  Now you know!!

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored everything with my alcohol markers.  I fussy cut the fish and popped it up alongside the sentiment.

Of course, since this is a card, and envelope challenge, I've got my matching envelope here.  I love making coordinating envelopes when I have time.  I like to use the envelope to give a kind of "sneak peek" of what's inside.   Before stamping the boat, I masked off the men in the boat to be able to just have the boat on the envelope.  After stamping, I used my black Micron 05 pen to draw in the back line of the boat and the line holding the hook with the sign.   I used my Prismacolor pencils to color for two reasons:  1) I didn't know how well the markers would blend on the paper of the envelope, and 2) I didn't want the bleed through of markers.

Well, I sure thank you for stopping by; and I hope I've inspired you to give this challenge a try!  We'd love to see your card and envelope linked up!  Click HERE to join us!  Happy crafting!

I used these Prismacolor Pencils for the envelope:
Blue Lake, Caribbean Sea, White, Terra Cotta, Burnt Ochre, 30% Cool Grey, 50% Cool Grey, 70% Cool Grey

Honey Bee Stamps BEE BOLD Blog Hop, Day 1

Hello to you all!  I'm so glad you've made it here to my stop in this awesome blog hop!  This new release of Honey Bee Stamps is just off the charts WOW!!  I've had so much fun making so many cards with all the new products!

I have the complete hop list at the end of my post.  Be sure to leave a comment here and on each blog in the hop, for a chance to win one of 2 $50 gift certificates to the Honey Bee Shop!!  The winners will be announced on Honey Bee Stamps blog August 10 on THIS blog.

UPDATE:  Link to Day 2 of the blog hop HERE!  Lots more beautiful inspiration!

Today I'm recapping several of my cards from the Sneak Peek days this week.  First up is this adorable get well card featuring the new Mason Jar Card die.  I "caught" the lady bug, from the Little Ladies die set, in the jar.  I used some heat embossable acetate for the sentiment from the Love Bug set and then overlaid it onto the card.  (Yes, she has a sad face because of you being sick:)

In this photo you can see the acetate overlay.

Next up is a card I created using the pretty Birds & the Bees Stamps and Honey Cuts along with the new Scallop A7 Frames dies.  I watercolored these images with Distress Oxide inks.  The sentiment is from the new Hi Honey stamp set.  (Did you know you can get the Distress Oxide inks in Honey Bee's shop?)

For this card I used the Stacking Pennant dies and cut them from several different colors of card stock.  For the sentiment, I used the previously released Happy Honeycuts and the birthday word is from Sending You Sentiments.

I used three new sets on this card:  Bee Bold Alpha Dies, Chin Up Buttercup stamps, and two of the stamps from the Bitty Patterns stamps.  I LOVE the gingham and dots stamps!  Of course, the other two in this set are awesome too!

I had so much fun using the Stacking Hearts Dies to create masks for this card!  Isn't the font of this sentiment die just awesome?!!  It's called Thinking of You Honeycuts.  I also used the Double Stitched Squares and Scallop Squares Honeycuts.

I have more cards that I made, but this will be the last one for now.  I used the wonderful With Sympathy stamps and With Sympathy Honeycuts for this one.  Distress Oxides in the masked circle opening with the Chin Up Buttercup Flowers keep this card clean and simple.

I think everything in this release is AWESOME!  How about you?

Again, be sure to comment here on my blog and all the others for your chance to win one of two $50 gift certificates to the Honey Bee Shop!  You won't want to miss any stop as the awesome designers have some beautiful inspirational cards to share with you!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Happy hopping!  Carol :)
