A Day To Remember -- A Fun Stenciled and Die Cut Autumn Card

Hello, crafty friends!  I'm still loving to create autumn themed cards and I've made one today with Honey Bee Stamps Maker's Mix stencil set and coordinating dies!  I've added in a favorite older set called Lovely Layers: Autumn Bouquet for the floral details.

I began with an A2 sized piece of colored cardstock for my stenciling with the Maker's Mix stencil set.  I used mini blending brushes to add coordinating autumn colored inks through each of the six stencils.  Then I trimmed the piece to 4" x 5-¼".  I have all of the cardstock and inks in the list below.

Next I die cut colored cardstock with the middle sized Double Stitched Oval die.  I added foam tape to the back and adhered it to the stenciled panel.  Then I used my scissors to trim off the oval overhanging the panel.  I used glue to adhered this to an A2 sized piece of cardstock in the same color and then glued it to an A2 card base.

Next I die cut several different colored cardstocks with the dies in the Lovely Layers: Autumn Bouquet Honey Cuts.  Then I used glue to adhere the layers together.  I played around with various arrangements of the florals and then used a piece of Press N Seal to pick them all up.  I LOVE doing this to retain the arrangement I made!  I used foam squares and glue to begin adhering the bottom most die cuts.  I continued until all of the florals were adhered to the oval.

I die cut white cardstock with the pallet die from the Maker's Mix .  Then I used the Maker's Mix stencils to add color to the pallet with inks in colors that coordinate with the Autumn Bouquet die cuts.  I added thin foam tape to the back to adhere it at the bottom of the floral arrangement.

The sentiment is from the Don't Worry, Be Crafty stamp set and is stamped in black ink.  I cut it out with the coordinating Honey Cut.  To adhere it the sentiment, I added a double layer of foam strips on the right back and glue to the left to bring the sentiment to the same height as the paint palette.

I added a bit of bling with pearls from the Gingerbread Pearl Stickers set.

Would you have thought to create an autumn card with the Maker's Mix stencils?  If not, I hope you've been inspired to try this out!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope your day is wonderful and filled with fun crafty times!

You're Always In My Heart -- In Honor of Sharon Klima

Hello friends!  Today I'm sharing this card featuring a very special sweet die set by Spellbinders called Sharon's Scissors.  This set was designed to honor Sharon Klima, and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this set will be donated to the American Heart Association in Sharon's name.

I thought I'd share with you the description on the product packaging:

In memory of a beautiful soul.

Sharon Klima was a "cut above the rest".  Known for her warm, infectious smile and her love of paper crafting, Sharon was and always will be part of our crafting community.  She played a vital role in the paper arts industry as a long-standing store owner, instructor, creator, and mentor.  But she was more than just that...she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and a true friend to so many of us.  Her warmth and kindness will always hold a special place in all our hearts.  These scissors are dedicated to Sharon and her love of "fussy cutting".

The embossed layer of my A2 card is white cardstock embossed with the Heart Swag embossing folder.  This embossing folder was one of the December, 2024 Club Kits.  It is currently available for purchase at a fantastic reduced price!  I'm glad it's still available as I thought it was perfect for this die set!

I die cut the scissors from Sharon's Scissors set three times from colored cardstock (listed below) and mat silver cardstock.  I glued the scissors pieces together and added foam tape pieces to the back.

The sentiment dies are part of Sharon's Scissors set.  I die cut them from teal cardstock and backed each one with black cardstock to help the die cut sentiments stand out a bit more.

When I die cut the scissors, I saved the hearts that were part of the scissor handles and used them as embellishments.  Three are popped up with foam tape and the others are glued to the card.

Sharon's Scissors is the sweetest set and worth a purchase to support the American Hearts Association in Sharon's memory.  I didn't know her, but knowing her story, I sure wish I had crossed paths with her. 💖

Autumn Birthday Wishes Card

This is my last card I've made with Spellbinders September Club Kits.  This one features the beautiful 3D Embossing Folder called Patchwork.

This card has another piece of a panel I made with the Sketchy Hexi press plate.  It's layered on top of a piece of Saffron cardstock that I embossed with the Patchwork 3D embossing folder.

I glued a strip of brown cardstock against the edge of the Sketchy Hexi piece.  If you saw the first card using this, you saw that I pressed a piece of Porcelain cardstock with the Sketchy Hexi plate with no ink.  I still had some of that, so I die cut leaves from it with the dies from the Autumn Wonder set.

I pressed a sentiment from the Sentiments of Wonder Press Plate set with brown ink.  Then I used a die from the Envelope of Wonder die set to cut it out.  As of the date of this post, the Envelope of Wonder collection sets are on clearance!

I tied a bit of twine onto the tag, then used foam tape to adhere it to the card.

This is an easy card to make with few elements, but with the press plate and embossed pieces, not much more is needed!  Be sure to check out the Club Kit details to decide if one (or more) of these would be good for you.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you are having a wonderful week so far!

Crafty Cart and Craft Room Decorated Autumn Card

Hello, friends!   I really do love the colors of autumn and I've decorated Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers: Craft Cart in that style!  I've also used a few older favorites to add the autumn touches!

The A2 card base is layered with patterned paper from the Fall Is In The Air paper pad.  Then I scored a 4-¼" x 2-½" piece of white cardstock ¼" across the width and glued it to the card.  A white scored strip of cardstock tops off the paneled piece.  I added a wood patterned strip to the bottom of the card.  This is from the Grain And Grunge paper pad.

Then I die cut the Lovely Layers: Craft Cart from gray and green cardstocks and used glue to adhere the layers together.

The supplies in the cart are from the Lovely Layers: Arts & Crafts Supplies set.  I chose the ones with a knitting/crochet theme and die cut them from colored cardstock and white cardstock.  I colored the white pieces with Copic markers and also added shading to the colored cardstock pieces.  After I glued the layers together, I adhered them all to the Craft Cart.

The autumn elements are from the so cute Itty Bitty Leaves Honey Cuts and the Itty Bitty Pumpkins Honey cuts.  I die cut nine leaves from three different colors of cardstock.  TIP:  Place your twine onto a sticky mat, taping the ends down if needed.  I planned the spacing of the leaves and then added glue to the backs to adhere them to the twine.  I left the leaf banner on the sticky mat until the glue had dried.

I used more glue on the back of the leaves to adhere the banner to the card.  I added one of the Itty Bitty Pumpkins to a shelf of the Craft Cart.  Glue and foam tape adheres the other three pumpkins to the card.

I stamped a sentiment from the Heartfelt Hello stamp set in black ink and cut it out with the coordinating Honey Cut.  More foam tape adheres the sentiment to the card.

I love this fall version with the Lovely Layers: Craft Cart and hope you do too!  Thanks for stopping by and having an awesome day!

Sending Autumn Cheer

I'm back with another card featuring one of Spellbinders September Club Kits.  This one uses the Embossing Folder Club Kit along with a few bits from a piece I saved from the Press Plate Club Kit.

The Autumn Breeze Embossing Folder of the month is so beautiful and makes a perfect background for your autumn themed cards!  I used it to emboss a panel of Fern cardstock.  Then I took a metallic gold stamp pad and lightly swiped it over the raised portions to help the beautiful embossing stand out.  (I tested this technique on a smaller piece of green cardstock to see if I liked it and saved it to use in the next steps.). The cardstocks are linked in the supply list below.

I adhered three hexagons I die cut from a panel I made with the Sketchy Hexi September press plate.

Then I die cut three leaves from burnt orange cardstock and the embossed green cardstock with the leaf dies from the Autumn Wonder die set.  I inked up the edges with blending brushes and coordinating inks.

To coordinate with the gold of the embossed panel, I added Gilded Distress Foundry Wax with a dry paint brush to the edges of the orange leaves.  This product is really cool because after you heat set it, it turns into a beautiful shiny gold!

The sentiment is another one from the Sketchy Hexi press plate set.  I tapped a brown ink onto the press plate and ran it through my Platinum die cutting machine.  After I trimmed the sentiment into a strip, I glued it to a brushed gold cardstock layer.

Such a fun card to make!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

This Is Me Sending Thanks

Hello, friends!  The window for joining Spellbinders Club Kits is open now through the 27th of September.  Today I'm the first of three cards I've made with Spellbinders Club Kits.  I've used the Betterpress Of The Month called Sketchy Hexi here.  I made a few different pressed panels and was able to use parts of them on my other two Club Kit cards, which I will be sharing in upcoming blog posts!

I used a piece of Porcelain cotton cardstock to ink up the Sketchy Hexi press plate with Tuscan, Clay, (from the Desert Sunset ink set) and Tawny Brown (Nature Tones) using the BetterPress Letterpress System.  I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5-¼" and glued it to an A2 card base.

Next I dry pressed another piece of Porcelain cardstock with the Sketchy Hexi press plate.  I just ran it through the Letterpress System with no ink.  It's so pretty!  Then I used the included hexagon die to cut out three of the patterns.  I added foam tape to the back to adhere them to my card.

Going with an autumn theme, I pulled out one of my favorite dies sets -- the Autumn Wonder die set.  I used a few die cuts that I had saved from a previous project.  That's why I always save any leftovers!  I used glue a foam squares to adhere them to the card.

The sentiment is one of two included with the Sketchy Hexi Press Plate.  I trimmed it into a strip and adhered it with foam strips.

I do love making autumn themed cards!  There's something about the warm autumn colors that I love.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to click this link to check out all of the Club Kit details and options!

Hello Beautiful!! -- How To Make An Easy Watercolor Background

Hello crafty Friends!  Today I'm sharing my card that features Honey Bee Stamps beautiful Floral Easel stamps and Honey Cuts!  I love red rubber stamps for the crisp images they stamp!  These are also perfect for "stamping" with water-based markers!  Read on for the details.

I began with a panel of Bristol Smooth.  (This cardstock is smoother than watercolor paper and still tolerates a good amount of moisture.)  I used my MISTI for this technique and chose the paintbrush/floral image and two small floral stamps from the Floral Easel stamp set to use for the background.  For this technique you will use the side of a brush tipped water-based dye ink pen to "color" the stamp.  I used Tombow Dual Brush pens, but I imagine that the Karin Brushmarkers or other similar pens may work as well.

The small floral stamps were inked with a yellow and an orange ink.  The brushes are inked with a shade of pink.  I stamped the images onto the Bristol panel, then cleaned off the stamps and rearranged the stamps around the stamped images.  I then repeated these steps (use the same color for each stamp throughout) until the panel was filled.

I grabbed a couple screenshots from the video clip that I will have in a reel on my Instagram later today and hope you can check it out to see the details in action.  This shows the finished stamped panel.

Then I took a Mini-Mister filled with water and sprayed the panel a few times until the colors started to run just a bit.  Here's what it looked like before I dried it with my heat tool.

When the panel was dry I noticed that I had totally lost parts or all of the original stamped images.  I remedied that by putting each stamp, one at a time, onto a stamp block.  I used the Tombow marker to color the stamp and then stamped it over the previously stamped area.

Then I added pink, yellow, and orange splatters.  I also added some gold metallic paint splatters and set it aside to dry.

This was SO fun to create!  I trimmed the piece to 4" x 5-¼" and glued it to an A2 card base.  I set a large stamp block over the card while the glue dried.  This helps to eliminate any warping that may have happened.

Next I stamped the easel from the Floral Easel stamps onto more Bristol with clear embossing ink.  I added gold embossing powder and used my heat tool to set it.  Then I repeated the heat embossing by stamping the sentiment, also from the Floral Easel set, onto the easel.

Then I used the Tombow markers to quickly color the images.  To add some shading to the front of the easel, I used a light colored gray Tombow marker.  I felt it needed a bit more, so I used one of the stamps I used for the background and inked it with the gray marker and stamped it down onto the easel in the bottom left and also the upper right corners.

I cut the easel out with the coordinating Floral Easel die.  Then I used foam tape to adhere the easel to the card.  Then I added a bit of gold sparkle with some Back To Basics gem stickers.

This is such a fun technique and I hope I've inspired you to give this a try!  Thank you for stopping by, and I hope your day is wonderful!

Autumn Themed Card With Coffee!

Hello crafty friends!  I'm a day late getting this posted!  Spent a good chunk of yesterday setting up a new computer.  Ugh.  Anyway, let's channel some autumn vibes!  The inspiration for my card today is a sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps Flawless Friend stamp set!  I thought an autumn setting was just right with the coffee and the Lovely Layers: Zipper Bag!

The A2 card base is layered with green cardstock that I embossed with the Fall Leaves 3D embossing folder.

I die cut the Lovely Layers: Zipper Bag from a piece of patterned paper from the Fall Is In The Air paper pad.  I inked the top edge of the bottom layer with a light gray ink to add a bit of contrast.  I die cut the zipper pull and decorative oval from mat gold cardstock.  I glued the layers together omitting any glue along the top edge of the top layer.

Next I chose four elements from the Lovely Layers: Zipper Bag Makeup Add-On and die cut those from white and mat gold cardstock.  I used some Copic markers to color the pieces in colors to coordinate with the patterned paper.  Then I used glue to adhere them all together.

The coffee cup is from the Mugs and Kisses Honey Cuts.  I cut the mug from orange card stock, the coffee from white, and the steam from vellum.  After I colored the coffee layer with a couple of brown Copic markers, I glued the layers together.

I added a decorative leaf to the mug by die cutting white cardstock with a leaf from the Lovely Layers: Mini Fall Florals dies.  I inked on some green and yellow inks to color it and glued it to the cup.  I added decorative gold touches to the cup and leaf with a gold gel pen.

To adhere the Zipper Bag, I added some foam tape to the back of it.  I used glue to adhere the brushes, eyelash curler, and mascara base from the Zipper Bag Add-On  inside the bag.

Next I stamped a sentiment from the Flawless Friend stamp set with VersaMark ink.  I added gold embossing powder and used my heat tool to set it.  When the embossing had cooled, I cut out the sentiment with the coordinating Flawless Friend die.  I added foam tape and some glue to adhere it to the card.

I really love the autumn look for the Zipper Bag and other elements!  What do you think?  I hope you were inspired today for your autumn cards!  Thank you so much for stopping by--you are appreciated!!

Happy Birthday, Sunshine!

Hello!  Today I'm sharing this card I made using Spellbinders August 2025 Embossing Folder of the Month called Coral Impression.  A lot of August's Club Kits have an ocean/sea theme, but as you can see this embossing folder makes a great background for many cards!

I embossed white cardstock with the Coral Impression embossing folder and glued the panel to an A2 card base.

Next I die cut more white cardstock with the dies from the Under The Sun die set.  I used ink blending brushes and two shades of yellow ink to color the sunshine layers.

The eyebrows, eyes, cheeks and lips are all colored with Copic markers.  I went with a more realistic eye color this time!

After I had the face pieces glued in place, I added some foam tape to pop it up on the sunshine.

I used glue to adhere the sunshine to the card.  I looked through some of my sentiment stamps and found one in the Hummingbird Sentiments stamp set that I liked.  This is stamped with black pigment ink and popped up with foam strips.

That's how easy it is to make this card!

What do you think about the Coral Impression embossing folder as a generic background?  I think it works!  I really love the Under The Sun dies.  You can recreate this card with this die set and just about any embossing folder you have in your stash.  However, I would really encourage you to check out Spellbinders Club Kits.  They are a great value!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Together Is A Good Place To Be

Hello friends!  I'm sharing this card I made with two of Spellbinders Club Kits.  I've used August's 3D Embossing Folder (Underwater Waltz) and the Betterpress Press Plate (Fish Parade).

For the background, first I put white cardstock in the Underwater Waltz 3D embossing folder and ran it through my Platinum die cutting machine.  I turned the embossed panel to the back (with the de-bossed side up).  Then I inked direct to paper with three shades of teal ink (listed below).  This left the de-bossed areas white!  So fun!  I glued the panel to a piece of coordinating colored cardstock and then to an A2 card base.

I decided to try foiling the Fish Parade press plate instead of using it with my BetterPress letterpress.  I turned on my Glimmer Hot Foil System to heat up.  When it was ready I placed the press plate face up onto the Glimmer platform.  I added a piece of Silver Holographic Speckle glimmer foil on top of the plate.  Then I put a piece of Glimmer Specialty Clear Film Sheets over both.  This is a heat resistant acetate that foils beautifully!

After I added the spacer shims and ran it through my Platinum, I removed the foil and used my scissors to trim around the image.

I added foam tape to the back of the foiled acetate, hiding the pieces of foam behind some of the fishes.

The sentiment is from the Fish Parade set and pressed with my LetterPress in a teal ink.  After I cut it out with the coordinating die, I added foam tape to adhere it to the card.

The iridescent sparkle is so pretty!  I hope you've been inspired by my card today.  Have a fabulous and crafty weekend!!

Antique Sewing Table Friend Card

Hello crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing my card that features Honey Bee Stamps awesome Lovely Layers: Antique Sewing Table.  I plan on using this for a birthday card to give to someone that is an amazing seamstress!  Fun fact:  I actually have a very old Singer sewing machine (that works!) that was gifted to me by my sweet mother-in-law.

REALLY wanted to try to replicate the look of the Singer sewing machine I have with the machine die in the Lovely Layers: Antique Sewing Table.  After trying a couple ideas that failed, I decided to try tapping gold ink onto the raised portion of the sewing machine die.  I used Metallic Gold ink and took the corner of a paper towel to wipe away as much of the excess ink that I could.

I carefully placed the die cut side down onto black cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine.  I have to say, I am quite pleased with the way it came out!  Next I die cut all of the other pieces of the Sewing Table from white and metallic cardstocks.  I colored the white cardstock with a few Copic markers and then adhered the layers with glue.

I colored in the de-bossed areas of the sewing table with two fine line pens.  If you have a pen with a very fine point, this is quite easy.

Next I die cut pink and green cardstocks with the Lovely Layers: Cherry Blossom dies.  I used ink blending brushes to add a bit of ink to the pieces for dimension.  I used glue to assemble the layers of the Cherry Blossom branch.

With my card elements complete, I created an A2 card with a pink layer of paper.  This paper is one that is in the "FreeBee" paper pack that you will receive with a qualifying Honey Bee Stamps purchase of $100 or more.

I die cut a piece of vellum with the second largest Double Stitched Ovals die.  Then I used glue to adhere the Antique Sewing Table and the Cherry Blossom branch to the vellum.  On the back of the vellum, I added foam tape behind the the die cut pieces so it wouldn't be visible and adhered the piece to my card.

I stamped a sentiment from the Sew Glad stamp set in black ink and then cut it out with the coordinating die.  To finish up, I added a few pearls from the Pastel Pearl Stickers.

I truly love how this turned out!  Especially the sewing machine!  Do you think you would try making one like this?  I sure hope I've inspired you to give it a try.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!
