Let's Make A Die Cut Card For Our Crafty Friends

Hello crafty friends!  Today I have a fun card to share with you!  It's filled with lots of the crafty goodies that we all love!  I've used Honey Bee Stamps new Lovely Layers: Paper Crafting Supplies along with the previously released Lovely Layers: Pegboard and Desk Honey Cuts.

First I created my card base and background.  I die cut some pretty patterned paper from the Simply Spring paper padwith the largest Sweet Stacks: Rectangles die and glued it to the A2 card base.  Next I added a small strip of paper from the Grain and Grunge paper pad to the bottom of the card front.

For the white paneled portion of the wall, I scored a piece of 4-¼" x 2-½" piece of white cardstock at ½" intervals using my score board.  I also added three score lines 1/8" apart and trimmed the piece to 4-¼" x 3/8".  I glued these to the card.

Next I die cut the desired pieces of the Lovely Layers: Paper Crafting Supplies from white, teal, yellow, pink, and mat silver cardstocks.  Using the awesome Layering Guide, I used glue to adhere the layers together.

Then I die cut the Lovely Layers: Pegboard and Desk from white and teal cardstocks.  I colored the pegboard with Copic marker colors E42, E41, and E40.  I added black enamel stickers from the Essentials Enamel Stickers.  I adhered both the pegboard and desk to the card with foam tape.

The knitting basket and yarn is from the Lovely Layers: Arts & Crafts Supplies dies and die cut with white and colored cardstocks.  I colored the basket with Copic markers and added it to my card with foam tape.

Next I used glue and foam adhesive to add all of the fun elements to the pegboard and desk.  So it didn't appear as if the items on the pegboard are just floating, I used a 1/8" hole punch and punched a few silver circles to use to "hold" the die cutter and paint palette.  I added a little shelf for the bins of stamps and dies.

The sentiment is from the Don't Worry, Be Crafty stamp set.  After I stamped it in black pigment ink, I cut it out with the coordinating die.

How fun is this?!!  I love how I will be able to use it for various occasions to send to a crafty friend.  There are lots of other adorable crafty items in these sets, so be sure to check them all out here!

Boots, Lace, and A Whole Lotta Grace Die Cut Card

Hello crafty friends!  Today I have a fun card to share with you that features Honey Bee Stamps' new Lovely Layers: Western Wear dies, Lovely Layers: Mini Desert Blooms dies, and the Saddle Up sentiment stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts!  All of these products are part of Honey Bee's awesome Sawdust and Saddles release!

I die cut the Lovely Layers: Western Wear dies for the boot from 80# white cardstock.  I colored the pieces with various Copic markers.  Then I used Bee Creative glue to adhere the layers.

Next I die cut all of the die in the Lovely Layers: Mini Desert Blooms Honey Cuts from more white cardstock.  This time I used ink blending brushes to color the pieces with various inks in my stash.  Using the Layering Guide is so helpful when glueing the layers together.

For the card base, I die cut some lacy patterned paper from the Textiles & Textures: Vintage paper pad with the largest Sweet Stacks: Rectangles dies.  I glued this to an A2 card base.  Next I die cut white cardstock with the third largest Sweet Stacks: Ovals die.  Then I placed it in the Burlap 3D embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine.

Before I adhered the oval to the card base, I tied a bow around it with some lace seam binding that's been in my stash forever!  Haha!  Then I added foam tape to the back of the oval to adhere it to the card.

I glued the Mini Desert Blooms onto the boot and adhered it to the card with foam tape.  I tucked the two cactuses at the base of the boot with glue and foam tape.

The sentiment is from the awesome Saddle Up stamp set.  After I stamped it with black pigment ink and then die cut it with the coordinating die.  I added foam tape strips to adhere it.

I thought the boot needed to be fancied up, so I added gem stickers from the Aurora Borealis gem stickers set.

Sending You Sunshine

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm back to the beach with my card featuring Honey Bee Stamps' fun Beach Scene A7 Cover Plate die, but not an A7 card! Keep reading for how I made this into an A2 card!

First I die cut the Beach Scene A7 Cover Plate die from 80# Neenah. Then I used some inks from my stash and a few Distress Inks to color the layers with ink blending brushes. The sand layers are Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress ink. The water layers are three shades of teal inks (linked below). Then the sky is more Distress Inks in the color of Squeezed Lemonade, Scattered Straw, Tumbled Glass and Prize Ribbon.

Next I die cut more 80# Neenah with the fourth largest Sweet Stacks: Rectangles die. Then I used glue to adhere the Beach Scene layers to the rectangle. I slightly offset the center of the scene so that the sunrise would appear more on the right side. After all of the layers were glued on, I used my scissors to trim off all of the excess on each side.

I adhered the Beach scene to an A2 card base. Next I die cut colored cardstock with the hibiscus and plumeria blossoms and leaves dies from the Tropical Bouquet Honey Cuts. I adhered the pieces to the card with glue, except for the hibiscus, which is popped up with a foam dot.

I can't believe I didn't even add any shading to the flowers! LOL! But I just thought that they were very pretty as they are! I treated a piece of white cardstock with my antistatic tool. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Wish You Were Herestamp set in black pigment ink. I sprinkled on black embossing powder and used my heat tool to set it. I cut it out with the coordinating die.

I added foam tape to the back of the sentiment for dimension to match the flowers. I really wanted to add a bit of bling, but decided that this card didn't need it at all! What do you think?

Serene Beach Scene Card

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing my card that features a piece of beautiful, and so dreamy, paper from Honey Bee Stamps' new Vitamin Sea paper pad! And can you believe I've never used the fun Sand Castle Builder Honey Cuts? It's a great time to use them with some of the newest ocean themed Honey Bee products. Keep reading for all the details!  (If you're on Instagram, I started making reels to go with some of my cards and I have one for this one.  Click HERE to see a bit of my creating this card!)

First I created my card base by die cutting this patterned paper from the Vitamin Sea paper pad with a Sweet Stacks: Rectangles die. (Don't you love the new 6" x 8-½" size?!!) I adhered the paper to an A2 card with Bee Creative glue.

Next I used a detail blender brush to ink up a piece of 80# Neenah with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink. Then I put the piece into my MISTI and stamped it with the Sandy Shores Background stamp and Antique Linen Distress Ink--not Oxide--as I found this ink stamped a bit darker. Then I die cut the panel with the Sand Castle Builder Honey Cuts. I didn't use all of the sand castle pieces, but now I have extras for another card. I added them to the card with foam squares.

I created more pieces for my scene by die cutting some of the dies from the Shoreline Scene Builder Honey Cuts from 80# Neenah. I used some Copic markers to color them and the sand castle flag. The Copic colors are:  palm trees and grass: G14, YG09, YG11, E39, E37, E35; sailboat and flag: BG53, B00, C3, C1, C00.

I used my scissors to cut foam squares in half and added them to the back of the trees, grass and sailboat to adhere them to the card. I used Bee Creative glue to adhere the seagulls. A Micron 005 pen made it easy to add the beak and eye details to the seagulls.

I stamped the sentiment from the Seas The Day set with Intense Black ink. Then I cut it out with the coordinating die. I popped this up with foam strips. (Yes, I do like dimension on my cards--Haha!) I'm amazed at the beauty of the patterned paper and how it makes such an easy, and beautiful, card!

Floral Birthday Card with Hot Foiled See-through Window

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing my card featuring Honey Bee Stamps' beautiful Painted Blooms stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts. I've created a pink foiled, acetate window and framed it out with the Painted Blooms. Read on for the details, and to see how I dressed up the inside of the card!

First I worked on my flowers from the Painted Blooms set. As you can see by my photos, I have lots of extras! I almost always stamp extras to have ready to go for another creation. The way I got the gradient colors on the flowers and leaves is I set everything up in my MISTI. Then I used sponge daubers with Distress Oxides to add the lightest colors to the stamps first, stamped them onto 80# Neenah, and then sponged on the darker shades. Sometimes I would use my finger or a towel to lightly dab the edges to smooth them out. I stamped them, and repeated the colors until I was happy with the look.

These are the Distress Oxide colors I used: flowers: Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Festive Berries, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, and Wild Honey. The leaves are colored with Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness. I used the coordinating Painted Blooms Honey Cuts to die cut the pieces.

Now it's time to create the card base. First I used the middle sized Circlescape Shaker Frame die and die cut four from 80# Neenah. I used Bee Creative glue to stack and adhere three of them together. I chose a piece of patterned paper from the Vitamin Sea 6" x 8-½" paper pad and die cut it with the second larges Sweet Stacks: Rectangles die. I adhered that to an A2 card base.

Next I chose a circle die from the Sweet Stacks: Circles that is slightly larger than the opening of the Circlescape Shaker Frame stack. Then I opened up the card base and positioned the circle die on the card front and held it down with temporary tape. I ran that through my die cutting machine to cut the circle opening in the card front.

I used the plain circle die (middle size) from the Circlescape Shaker Frame set to die cut a piece of Glimmer Specialty Clear Film Sheet.  (NOTE: this is acetate made specifically for hot foiling and it's NOT the same as regular acetate.) I turned on my Glimmer Hot Foil machine to preheat. I prepped my pink foil by cutting a piece slightly larger than my sentiment from the Foil Script: Wishes hot foil plate set. I followed the layering directions that come with the machine to layer the foil plate, foil, and clear film circle. I adhered these in place with some temporary tape and put it die side down to heat it up. I followed my machines directions to complete the foiling. I wish foil was easier to photograph! It really is pink! Haha!

I used Bee Creative glue to adhere the foiled acetate circle over the opening of the card front. Then I used glue to adhere the stacked Circlescape Frame to the card. I adhered the extra circle frame on the inside of the card front.

Before I finished the card front with the flowers, I used my MISTI to stamp a sentiment from the Inside: Birthday Sentiments set near the bottom of the card inside. I adhered a few flowers and leaves with glue and trimmed the overhang off with my scissors.

To finish up, I arranged all of my flowers and leaves around the circle opening on the front of the card. Everything is adhered with Bee Creative glue.

Lovely Layers: Tulips Card & Hot Foiling on Ribbon!!

Today I'm sharing my card using the beautiful Lovely Layers: Tulips Honey Cuts by Honey Bee Stamps; and I added a bow that has foiling on it!!  I finally jumped on the hot foiling train and really love it!!  I had been wondering if the Small Card Hot Foil Plates would work on materials other than card stock, and much to my delight, they do! I tried out a few different types of ribbon and found I got the best results on the smooth satin type ribbon. I have some photos below to go along with my tutorial for the process.

First I die cut the Lovely Layers: Tulips from some coral, yellow, and green card stock. I added some shading to the pieces with Distress Oxide ink and a Detail Blender Brush. I used Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, and Rustic Wilderness. I used a coral ink from my stash for the shading of the coral card stock pieces. I used pieces of foam strips between all of the layers for extra dimension. If you need help with the layers, check out this layering guide:

Before I adhered the leaves and stems to the assembled flowers, I spritzed a bit of white ink spray onto the flowers and set them aside to dry. I die cut some beautiful paper from the Modern Spring paper pad with the largest Sweet Stacks: Rectangles and adhered it to an A2 card base. Then I added a frame I die cut from white card stock where I taped together the two largest A2 Double Stitched Frames dies. I used Bee Creative glue to adhere the frame, tulips, stems and leaves.

As I mentioned above, I used the Small Card Hot Foil plates to experiment foiling on various types of ribbon. I wanted to foil on the bias tape type ribbon as that's what I have most of. The looser weave of that ribbon just didn't produce a very smooth foiling though. The tight weave of this satin ribbon is what has worked best for me. I didn't want to have to guess where to do my foiling, and then tie the bow, so I tied the bow first. These next photos show how I foiled it.

First, with the bow right side up, I laid down the foil (shiny side up) and then placed the sentiments from the Small Card Hot Foil Plates set face down onto the foil. I used small pieces of removable tape to hold it all in place.

You need the tape, because now you will turn it over so the plates are touching the heating plate of your machine. (If the ribbon is on the bottom, the plates will not get hot enough--ask me how I know!! LOL!) Following the directions for your machine, let the plates heat for the required amount of time. Leave the tied portion of the bow off the edge as you see below.

When the heating is finished, add the shims required for your machine, and run it through your die cutting machine with the tie bow hanging out. Like this:

I was SO thrilled that this worked! I think it adds such a unique touch to a project!

I trimmed the edges of the bow into a fishtail shape and adhered it with a glue dot. There are so many sentiments in the Small Card Hot Foil Plates set that provide lots of different options, depending on the width of your ribbon.

Oh, one last thing. In the photos you may have noticed that, yep, I foiled my plates! Evidently, just about everyone does that at some point, but good news: it does not affect the plates at all! You can remove the foil, but I just went ahead and used them and there's no difference in the results!

Merry Mail Christmas Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Happy December friends! I cannot believe it's already December, but I'm happy there's still lots of time to make our Christmas cards! My card today features the beautiful Honey Bee Stamps Merry Mail stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts.  I had so much fun creating my scene for the mailbox, I kind of forgot about adding any sentiment! Haha! Keep reading to see which set has the perfect small sentiment that fit just right!

First I created my card base and layer. I inked up some 80# Neenah with my favorite wintery sky Distress Oxide Inks. I used a Detail Blender brush to blend on Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans and Stormy Sky in a random pattern. Next I die cut the panel with the Northern Star Cover Plate die. Then I used the second largest Sweet Stacks: Rectangles die to cut it down. I added some splatters of Confetti White Perfect Pearls with a paint brush and water. I adhered it to a top-folding A2 card base with Bee Creative glue.

To add to the background scene I die cut green card stock using the Pine Trees Honey Cuts. I added some Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink around the edges of each tree with a Blender Brush. Next I die cut white card stock to create the hills and fence using the Horizon Slimline Borders Honey Cuts. I trimmed them to 4" and arranged the trees, fence and two hills. Once I had them the way I liked, I used Bee Creative glue to adhere them all but for the top hill, which is popped up with foam tape. I added a line of glue along the top edge of the hill and sprinkled on some coarse glitter for a bit of sparkle.

Next I stamped all of the images from the Merry Mail stamp set with Intense Black Ink. (I usually just stamp everything so I can pick and choose the elements I want as I create my card.) I stamped two each of the pine branches and berry branches. Then I colored them all with my Copic markers. I used the coordinating Honey Cuts to cut them out. Now for the fun part of arranging them all! I trimmed off the bottom of the mailbox post to make it fit the perspective of my scene and popped it up with some thin foam tape. The mailbox flag is also popped up with foam tape. Before I adhered the gifts and mail to the mailbox, I trimmed off the white edge on the left side to give it a more seamless look with the mailbox.

Once everything was adhered, I added Glossy Accents to the berries. I used a black pen to add details to two of the gifts and a clear glitter pen for some sparkle. AND, it was at this point I remembered I forgot to plan for a sentiment! Haha! Well, the small sentiments from the Tag, You're It: Holidays came to the rescue! I stamped one of the sentiments with Intense Black Ink and used the coordinating Honey Cut to cut it out. Having coordinating dies for the sentiments makes it so easy to put your sentiment on your finished card!!!

Happy Howl-idays! | Honey Bee Stamps

 Happy Wednesday crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing a card that features Honey Bee Stamps' new, and so adorable, Riding By...Holiday Style stamp set and coordinating dies!  This is a fun holiday add-on set for the Bicycle Builder die set that has lots of options for your holiday cards.

First I worked on my background layer. I used a piece of patterned paper from the current "free BEE", a beautiful vintage holiday paper pack that's free with your qualifying purchase. I die cut it with the second largest Sweet Stacks: Rectangles. Then I die cut some white glitter paper with the hill die from the Horizon Slimline Borders Honey Cuts. I trimmed it into two 4" hills and adhered them to the patterned paper with Bee Creative glue. 

I made the evergreen tree by stenciling the tree using the Farmhouse Tree Details stencil. I first stenciled the base layer lightly with Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink and my Background Blender brush. I positioned the second layer of the tree over the first and applied a heavier layer of Rustic Wilderness ink. Then I used the tree die from the Farmhouse Tree Builder Honey Cuts to die cut it. I added white dots to the tree with my white gel pen and adhered the tree to the card. I trimmed off the overhanging part of the tree and then I adhered the piece to a top-folding A2 card base.

I die cut the Bicycle Builder pieces from some red glitter paper, silver matte, and black card stock. I adhered the pieces together with Bee Creative glue.

Next I stamped the images and sentiment from the Riding By... Holiday Style stamp set with Intense Black ink. I colored all the images with my Copic markers and used the coordinating Honey Cuts to cut them out. After I adhered the images to the bicycle I added very narrow strips of thin foam tape to the back. Then I decided to stamp the tiny snowflakes that are also in the Riding By...Holiday Style set. I put the card in my MISTI, positioned the bicycle (without adhering) and then placed the snowflake stamps where I wanted them. I removed the bicycle, patted on my anti-static pouch, inked up the stamps with Versamark and stamped them. I added some white embossing powder and heat set it. and then added it to my card. Here's a super close-up photo for you to see the details:

I added some fun details to the dog's scarf, the little tree, and the bow with a white gel pen. Then I added some sparkle to the lights by dotting on Nuvo White Blizzard glitter drops. The sparkle on the large tree are some red gem from the Vintage Holiday Gem Stickers set.

Before I finish my blog post I wanted to share with you this awesome new Bee Creative Tool Caddy from Honey Bee! I am really enjoying using it to keep my most-used tools right in from of me. Grateful For Your Friendship | Honey Bee Stamps

 Happy Wednesday friends!  Today I'm sharing a card featuring Honey Bee Stamps beautiful Garden Harvest Florals stamps and Honey Cuts!  My inspiration for my card comes from the fact that where I am we still have warm temperatures with flowers still putting out blooms, and yet, the acorns are falling from the trees.  I'm enjoying the last of the beautiful flowers and warm temps!!

I stamped all of my images from the Garden Harvest Florals stamp set with Intense Black ink.  Then I used my Copic markers to color them.  I'll list most of those I used at the end.  Then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I arranged the flowers with the watering can and glued them on with Bee Creative glue.  I added foam tape to the back and set it aside.

Next I die cut some black card stock with the "grateful" die three times.  This is in the Bitty Buzzwords: Fall Honey Cuts set.  I adhered the layers all together with glue.  I die cut the shadow from some vellum and glued the script portion to it.  I added small dots of glue on the back, behind the black card stock, and adhered it to the watering can.

I created the card base by die cutting gingham paper from Gingham Galore: Fall paper pad with the largest Sweet Stacks: Rectangles die.  I adhered it to a top-folding A2 card base.  Then I taped the next two smaller dies together and die cut white card stock twice to create a frame.  I glued the two frames together and then to the card base.

I stamped the rest of the sentiment with a stamp in the Bitty Buzzwords: Fall stamp set.  I trimmed it to a narrow strip and added foam strips to the back.  Next I adhered the watering can to the card.  I added two more acorns near the bottom of the card and then added the sentiment strip.

For a bit of shine I added Glossy Accents to the Grateful and the berries in the arrangement.

Grapevine Wreath Halloween Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends!  Today I'm sharing my first Halloween card of the season featuring a few of Honey Bee Stamps latest products with some older favorites!  I don't make a lot of Halloween cards, but the ones I do make need to be cute--not scary!  The Grapevine Wreath Honey Cuts makes a fun Halloween wreath, but I'm sure I'll be using this awesome set year round!

First I created my card base by using the three largest Sweet Stacks: Rectangles dies to cut a purple layer, a black mirror card stock layer, and the top patterned paper layer from the Funfetti Birthday paper pad.  I adhered all the layers together with Bee Creative glue and then adhered them to a top folding A2 card base.

Next I die cut the Grapevine Wreath twice, once from some black glitter card stock, and another from black mirror card stock.  I glued these together and then adhered them to my card.  I die cut the bow from the Grapevine Wreath set from black mirror card stock and purple glitter paper.  Then I adhered them together and glued them to my wreath.

I die cut the sentiment from the Boo Honey Cuts.  I die cut the layers from vellum, black mirror card stock, and purple glitter paper.  I adhered them with Bee Creative glue and set a thick stamp block on it to weight it down while it dried.

Then I die cut the large ghost found in The Name's Jack die set.  I stamped the face from The Name's Jack stamp set with Intense Black ink and added Glossy Accents to it and let it dry.

I die cut the small ghosts and the bats found in the Haunted House Add On Honey Cuts.  The bats are black glitter card stock.  I glued a small scrap of black mirror card stock behind the ghosts' eyes and mouths.  To finish up, I adhered the sentiment, ghosts and bats to the card with glue and a few foam squares too.

As if I didn't have enough sparkle (haha!) I added bling to the wreath with some coordinating gems from the Playful Pastel gem stickers set!  

This card was so much fun to make and I am 100% sure I'll be using this Grapevine Wreath on some Christmas cards!!!  Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderful day!
