Now onto my cards!

I am really loving Altenew's layering stencils and so enjoyed using this gorgeous Sisters of the Heart Simple Coloring stencil set! I also noticed that each stencil is numbered and coordinates with the included layering guide to help you add each layer! (Click the photo to see it up close.)

This card was very easy to put together! I used inks from the Green Fields and Red Sunset ink cube sets to color the layers. Then I die cut them with the coordinating Sisters of the Heart die set. After I added some black spatters and card stock strips to my card base I adhered the flowers to the card with glue and foam tape. Next I stamped the sentiment from the Birthday Builder stamp set and popped it up on the card.

My next card uses the awesome Let's Go Layering stamp set along with the coordinating dies.

I stamped the layers of the scene with inks from the Green Meadows and Cool Summer Night ink cubes. Then I used the coordinating Let's Go die set to cut it out. I used some blue card stock from my stash to create coordinating layers for the card elements.

Next I used the gorgeous Cloudy Day 3D Embossing Folder to emboss white card stock. I used a couple of Copic markers to add some color and shading to the sky around the clouds. The dimension of this is amazing!!

Then I chose this awesome sentiment from the Let's Go set (who, besides me, is ready to GO and travel?!)

I made a second card with the Let's Go set, but this time I used the Let's Go Simple Coloring Stencil.

I love this scene--reminds me of visiting Venice--it's on my bucket list! First I stamped the teal building on the left to have placement for the stencil. I used a blending brush and inked on Arctic Mountain for the night time sky and Ice Water for the light blue shade of the water. These are the Crisp Dye Ink mini cube colors I used: Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss, Icy Water, Arctic Mountain, Lagoon, and Jet Black.

I heat embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder. Then I added my card elements to a background I created with the Angled Mosaic 3D embossing folder. After I embossed the dark blue card stock, I inked some Arctic Mountain and Jet Black ink around the edges.

My final card features the gorgeous Whimsical Bouquet 3D embossing folder!

I decided to go for a letterpress look for my card. I just squeezed several drops of Salvaged Patina Distress Ink re-inker onto my craft mat. Then I rolled a brayer through the ink until it was smooth and added it to the debossed side of the embossing folder. I repeated the steps until I had a good coverage and then ran it through my die cutting machine with white card stock. I love how this turned out, and I even love the look of the imperfections of the ink!

I decided to let the Whimsical Bouquet embossing folder be the star of the card and added a sentiment from the Versatile Vases stamp set. Then I finished it off with some pale blue acrylic hearts for a bit of bling.

Spellbinders - June 2021 Card Kit of the Month - Wild Hello

Hello friends! I'm back to share some cards I made with the amazing June 2021 Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month! I'm really having fun with these kits!

These four cards were so quick to make, and if I didn't have other deadlines, I could have made several more! This month's kit is called Wild Hello and it has everything related to topical foliage, to safari animals with a birthday theme, and a hello/encouragement theme!

Seriously, the only things outside of the kit that I used are my Spellbinders Platinum die cutting machine, the A-2 Matting Basics A & B dies, and some liquid glue!

My first card uses one of the four included sentiment dies. These dies are awesome! Each one measures 5-½" across so they can be used on a wider card, or trimmed as I did, for my A2 sized card. I used patterned paper from the paper pad, as well as some of the die cut shapes. Do you like how I added a black card stock shadow behind the white layer of the sentiment? I love how it sets it off!

This card is just a sweet card to send to anyone! Write your sentiment inside to fit whatever occasion you need. On this card I used two pieces of the patterned paper, some chipboard elements, and a journal card. Another good card to have on hand for any occasion!

I used two pieces of the paper pad plus the included black card stock for my card base layers. (You know that your pre-folded white cards are included, right?) Then I used one of the die cut elements and I cut off the floral banner off of the gingham (I love the floral but didn't coordinate with the idea I had in mind.) I stamped the cheetah fully intending to color it, but decided to keep the card mono-chromatic and left him as is. I added some of the puffy stickers and die cuts to finish it off.

My final card is perfect for that special guy in your life! I used the beautiful foiled patterned paper with a gold mirror and black card stock layer. I used one of the die cut pieces and added a piece of the blue card stock behind it for a frame. A couple more of the die cut shapes, it's done!

Red, White & Blue Patriotic Pickup Truck | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing a card with Honey Bee Stamps Big Pickup Tailgate stamps, dies, and coordinating stencils. I've decorate our pickup to be ready for a July 4th parade! I'd love to ride in a truck like this, want to join me?

Here are the steps for my card: (Do you like the steps as bullet points? Let me know)

First create the background. Using a Background Blender brush, ink some red ink through the Twinkle, Twinkle stencil onto white card stock.
Leave the stencil in place, and add some Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste through the stencil. I like the subtle sparkle it adds and how it somewhat mutes the brightness of the red ink!
Remove the stencil and set the panel aside to dry. Clean the stencils and tools immediately!
Stamp the Big Pickup Tailgate stamp with black Copic safe ink. I colored it with Copic markers R39, R29 and R27. Then die cut it with the coordinating die.
Next I used the Big Pickup Cab & Tailgate stencil set and a blender brush to add silver metallic ink to the bumper, side and center mirrors. I added black ink to the tires.
Stamp the license plate sentiment with dark blue ink.
Then I used a white gel pen to add the details to the tires and highlights on the pickup.
Add Glossy Accents to the tail lights and side mirrors and set aside to dry.

I used the flag in the United We Stand set and stamped it in some red and dark blue ink from my stash.
Next I took the die in the Big Pickup Tailgate die set that is for the tailgate and centered it over the flag. I positioned it so that more of the blue portion showed and ran it through my die cutting machine.
Then I stamped, colored and die cut the flowers and grass from the Loads of Spring stamp set with the coordinating dies.
I adhered the grass edge and flowers to the top of the flag tailgate with Bee Creative glue. Then I added foam tape to the back and adhered it to the truck.
The small flag is in the Farmhouse Add-on stamp set. It is a blank flag and after I stamped it, I used a red and blue gel pen to add in the details.

Next I trimmed the stenciled panel to 5" x 5" and added it to a dark blue layer I had cut to 5-¼" x 5-¼". These were adhered to a 5-½" x 5-½" white card base.
Then I adhered the pickup to the card base with Bee Creative glue.
I used the Grass Border die to cut a strip of white card stock. Then I colored it with a couple of green Copic markers and added it to the bottom of the top panel.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment from the United We Stand stamp set in dark blue ink. Then I die cut it with the coordinating die, and also once again from dark blue card stock. I adhered the dark blue layer behind the sentiment slightly offset.
Add foam strips to the sentiment and attach it to the card.

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Tree Peony Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Now onto my card! I used all of the gorgeous layers for the flowers and leaves and added them to an embossed background. Read on for the details!

First I stamped the beautiful layers of the Tree Peony flower and leaves. I used inks from the Red Sunset ink cube set for the flower. For the leaves I used Green Fields ink cube set. Then I cut them out with the Tree Peony coordinating dies. The flower centers are inks from the Golden Sunset ink cube set.

Next I created a dimensional background for the gorgeous florals! I used coordinating card stock from my stash and embossed it with the amazing Beautiful Baroque 3D embossing folder. Next I trimmed it to 4" x 5-¼". To add some shimmery fun to the embossed piece, I gently swiped the Enchanting Gold Pigment ink pad over the raised areas. (I wish I could capture the beautiful shimmer in my photos!) Then I added some metallic gold and white spatters. When the spatters were dry, I adhered the panel to a top-folding A2 card base.

I used one of the sentiments included in the set and stamped it in black ink. Then I trimmed it into a banner shape. I added foam tape to the back of the flower, one leaf, and the sentiment and adhered them to the card front.

I honestly do not know how Altenew continues to create so many beautiful floral sets! I love this Build-A-Flower: Tree Peony set and it will be in my favorites for sure! Be sure to leave a comment to qualify for a chance to win!

Waffle Flower Challenge - Use Vellum

Hello friends, and happy Friday! I'm so very thrilled and honored to have been invited to join Galina Filippenko, from the Waffle Flower Design Team, for this week's Waffle Flower Challenge - Use Vellum. I had so much fun creating my cards with vellum and some products from Waffle Flower's latest Social Butterfly release!

I was able to make three cards in just one day for this challenge! Trust me, that never happens! LOL! Since I have a lot of photos, I'll keep the description brief, and link all of the products I used at the end of my post.

For my first card I used these Waffle Flower products: Spread Your Wings stamp set and matching dies; JJ's Rainbow paper; Thank You stamp and matching dies; and JJ's Rainbows Sample Pack paper.

First I heat embossed the butterflies on vellum. I used a white sparkle embossing powder on 40# vellum for some fun sparkle! (Be sure to use heavy vellum to minimize the warping.)

Then I used a couple of sentiments from the Thank You stamp set. I love how the two large "thank you's" have coordinating dies! I added all of the elements to a piece of patterned paper from JJ's Rainbows Sample Pack.

My second card features stenciling with Distress Oxide inks. I had never tried using a stencil with vellum before, but I love the results!!

Waffle Flower products: Spread Your Wings stencil; and Thank you stamps and matching dies. First I used a blending brush to ink Distress Oxides with the Butterflies Background Stencil. I used Kitsch Flamingo, Squeezed Lemonade, Cracked Pistachio, Salvaged Patina, and Wilted Violet Distress Oxides. I love how EASY it is to blend inks on vellum and the soft look you get! I added the stenciled vellum over a white card base.

Then I stamped the thank you sentiment with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide. I added foam tape to the back of both sentiment pieces for dimension.

For my final card, I used the vellum behind the window of the Flying Butterflies die cut to mute the patterned paper behind the vellum. I also die cut some vellum butterflies and added them as an embellishment!

Waffle Flower products: Flying Butterflies die; Thank you stamps and matching dies; and JJ's Rainbows Sample Pack. First I die cut the Flying Butterflies Die on a piece of Woodgrain card stock. I added a piece of vellum behind the opening, then a rainbow patterned paper from JJ's Rainbows Sample Pack. I adhered the outline from the Flying Butterflies die on top of the vellum.
