Because Of The Brave, We Celebrate!

Hello friends! It's officially summer and it sure feels like it here in Texas!! Our first summer holiday is next week, and I thought it was a great time to pull out Honey Bee Stamps' awesome Big Pickup: Americana Add-on and use it with our much loved Big Pickup Tailgate stamps and dies!  This is just one of several awesome products in the Sunkissed Summer release that is perfect for celebrating our heroes!

First I stamped the Big Pickup Tailgate stamp and a few images from the Big Pickup: Americana Add-on set with Intense Black ink onto 80# Neenah. I also stamped the most adorable dog that is in the Loads of Fall Add-on. I colored the images with Copic markers. Here is a list of the markers I used:

  • Truck: R59, R46, R35
  • Blues: B39, B37, B26, B16
  • Dog: E55, E23, E53, E51, E50
  • Grays: C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, C00; N9, N8, N7

When I finished coloring, I die cut all of the images with the coordinating dies.  I forgot to stamp the license plate and chose the sentiment "blessed" from the Tailgate stamp set.  I think it's perfect because I feel blessed to be born in our great country!

To make the shaped card base, I cut a sheet of 80# Neenah to 5" x 9". I scored it at 4-½". Then I placed the Big Pickup: Tailgate die onto the folded card with the top edge just off of the folded edge. I ran it through my die cutting machine. Then I glued the colored Big Pickup: Tailgate to the card.

To make the multi-colored fireworks with the stamp from the Americana Add-on I placed white cardstock into my MISTI. Then I used a blue and red watercolor marker to color directly onto the stamp. After stamping it down, I repeated the steps several times to get the coverage I liked. Then I swiped a clear sparkle pen over the stamp to add a bit of sparkle. I repeated this a few times until I was happy with it. I know the photos don't show the sparkle, but it is there, I promise!

I used glue and foam dots to adhere all of the elements to the truck. Then I used a white gel pen to add detailing to the tires and tail lights.

Next I stamped a sentiment from the Because of The Brave stamp set with red ink and cut it out with the coordinating die. I glued this on the inside of the card.

I added a few gems from the Americana Gem stickers for a bit more sparkle!

I love the Big Pickup series and this new Americana Add-on is just fantastic!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

A Merry Little Christmas | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello crafty friends!! Today I'm sharing a holiday card using my favorite Big Pickup Tailgate set and the new coordinating Loads Of Holiday Cheer set! I truly do have fun decorating the Big Pickup for each season and love that Honey Bee makes it so easy for us to do that! I've even used some of the extras from the Loads of Holiday Cheer set to decorate the inside of my card. Keep reading for all the details!

First I created the layer for the card base:

  • I inked the edges of a piece of 6-¾" x 4-¾" blue card stock with Prize Ribbon, Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks (in that order) using Background Blender brushes. I then used a heat tool to dry the ink.
  • Next I placed the snowfall stencil in the Winter Wonder Scene Builder Stencils set over the blue card stock and spread on some white texture paste. The stencil isn't quite large enough for this size card, so I let that dry and then stenciled the remaining area.
  • When the stenciling was drying, I adhered the panel to a top-folding A7 card base I made from 80# Neenah Solar White card stock. Bee Creative glue is perfect for this and is what I used!
  • Then I die cut two hill from white glitter card stock with the hills from the Horizon Slimline Borders Honey Cuts. I trimmed it to 4-¾" long and adhered them to the card with Bee Creative glue.

Now it's time to stamp, color and die cut the images:

  • First I stamped the pickup from the Big Pickup Tailgate stamp set with Intense Black ink. This truly is my most favorite ink ever!! Then I colored the truck with my Copic markers. I used C5, C3, C1, and C00 for the body and the bumper of the truck. The tires are C9, C7, and C5. The lights are R39 and R37. Then I die cut the truck with the coordinating Honey Cut.
  • I stamped the "hohoho" (from the Loads of Holiday Cheer stamp set) onto the license plate with Versamark ink (after applying my anti-static pouch) and sprinkled on some white embossing powder. Then I heat set it with my heat tool.
  • Next I stamped the other images with Intense Black ink, choosing several from the adorable Loads of Holiday Cheer stamp set. I used these Copic markers: reds are: R89, R39, R37, and R35; greens: G28, YG17, and YG25. The toy bag and the elf's hair are E59, E57, and E23. When I was finished coloring I used the coordinating Loads of Holiday Cheer Honey cuts to cut them out.
  • Using Bee Creative glue, I adhered the elf and toy bag to the truck. I added foam tape to the poinsettia garland and attached it to the truck.
  • Next I die cut the "Christmas" from the Bitty Buzzwords: Holidays Honey Cuts. I colored the shadow layer with a few of the same red Copic markers I used previously. I adhered the top layer to the shadow with glue.
  • Before attaching any of the images to the card front, I folded the card inside out and placed it in my MISTI. I planned out my placement of the extra images by just setting them in place without gluing. (see photo below) Then I stamped the sentiment from the Bitty Buzzwords: Holidays stamp set with Intense Black ink.

With my sentiment stamped, I can now adhere the die cut pieces to the inside of the card.

I finished up the card by adhering the pickup to the card front. I added some foam tape to the tree and added it to the card. I added details to some of the images with a white gel pen and also some more dots for snow to the background. A clear glitter pen adds some fun sparkle to the white parts of the elf's hat and candy canes, and the mirrors.

I hope you've enjoyed this version of the Big Pickup for the holidays!  Thank you very much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonder, and crafty, day!

Happy Fall Y'all! | Honey Bee Stamps

Happy first day of fall, y'all!!  To celebrate this day, I have a fun card featuring Honey Bee Stamps new Loads of Fall stamp and die set that coordinates with the Big Pickup Tailgate set!  As I was born in Texas and have lived here my entire life, the "howdy" and "happy fall y'all" sentiments in these sets just had to happen together on a card!  LOL!

This time, I just used the Big Pickup Tailgate stamp and die set.  To create my shaped card base, I took a top-folded 5-½" x 4-¼" card base, placed the Tailgate die on it with the top edge of the die just extending past the fold.  When you run the folded card and die through your machine, you will have a shaped card base!

Next I stamped the Big Pickup Tailgate and the sunflowers (from the Loads of Fall set) with Intense black ink onto my 80# Neenah card stock.  Then I used my Copics to color the images.  There is a coordinating Big Pickup Details stencil set that makes it really easy to color the truck!  I die cut the pickup with the coordinating die.  Then I used the die for the tailgate to cut it out.  Before I adhered the truck to my card base with Bee Creative glue, I stamped "howdy" on the license plate.  Then I adhered the sunflowers to the tailgate, added foam tape to the back and adhered it to the card.

I stamped the sentiments from the Sweater Weather set on the inside of the card with Intense Black ink.  I adhered the sunflower plant at the edge, letting it peek out to the front.  I used the coordinating die to cut out Happy Fall Y'all and popped it up on the truck with foam strips.

To finish up, I used a black gel pen to add treads to the tires.  Then I used a white gel pen to add little nightlight lines on the truck.  It doesn't show in the photo, but I used a clear glitter pen on the flower centers.  Lastly, I added a touch of Glossy Accents to the mirrors and taillights.

I love how this sweet card stands up and  can be displayed with your fall decor!

I hope you've enjoyed my autumn version of the Big Pickup!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Red, White & Blue Patriotic Pickup Truck | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing a card with Honey Bee Stamps Big Pickup Tailgate stamps, dies, and coordinating stencils.  I've decorate our pickup to be ready for a July 4th parade!  I'd love to ride in a truck like this, want to join me?

Here are the steps for my card:  (Do you like the steps as bullet points?  Let me know)

  • First create the background.  Using a Background Blender brush, ink some red ink through the Twinkle, Twinkle stencil onto white card stock.
  • Leave the stencil in place, and add some Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste through the stencil.  I like the subtle sparkle it adds and how it somewhat mutes the brightness of the red ink!
  • Remove the stencil and set the panel aside to dry.  Clean the stencils and tools immediately!
  • Stamp the Big Pickup Tailgate stamp with black Copic safe ink.  I colored it with Copic markers R39, R29 and R27.  Then die cut it with the coordinating die.
  • Next I used the Big Pickup Cab & Tailgate stencil set and a blender brush to add silver metallic ink to the bumper, side and center mirrors.  I added black ink to the tires.
  • Stamp the license plate sentiment with dark blue ink.
  • Then I used a white gel pen to add the details to the tires and highlights on the pickup.
  • Add Glossy Accents to the tail lights and side mirrors and set aside to dry.

  • I used the flag in the United We Stand set and stamped it in some red and dark blue ink from my stash.
  • Next I took the die in the Big Pickup Tailgate die set that is for the tailgate and centered it over the flag.  I positioned it so that more of the blue portion showed and ran it through my die cutting machine.
  • Then I stamped, colored and die cut the flowers and grass from the Loads of Spring stamp set with the coordinating dies.
  • I adhered the grass edge and flowers to the top of the flag tailgate with Bee Creative glue. Then I added foam tape to the back and adhered it to the truck.
  • The small flag is in the Farmhouse Add-on stamp set.  It is a blank flag and after I stamped it, I used a red and blue gel pen to add in the details.

  • Next I trimmed the stenciled panel to 5" x 5" and added it to a dark blue layer I had cut to 5-¼" x 5-¼".  These were adhered to a 5-½" x 5-½" white card base.
  • Then I adhered the pickup to the card base with Bee Creative glue.
  • I used the Grass Border die to cut a strip of white card stock.  Then I colored it with a couple of green Copic markers and added it to the bottom of the top panel.
  • Finally, I stamped the sentiment from the United We Stand stamp set in dark blue ink.  Then I die cut it with the coordinating die, and also once again from dark blue card stock.  I adhered the dark blue layer behind the sentiment slightly offset.
  • Add foam strips to the sentiment and attach it to the card.

I hope you've found inspiration for another way to use the fun Big Pickup Tailgate set!  Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful week!

So Hoppy - Honey Bee Stamps Spring Bliss Instagram Hop

Hello friends!  I'm so happy you've hopped over here from the Honey Bee Stamps Spring Bliss Instagram hop!  For my card today, I've used the new Loads of Spring stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts that were created to coordinate with the Big Pickup Cab and Big Pickup Tailgate sets.  I love these and, as you can see, they are so versatile for any occasion!

I'm going to keep my card descriptions brief so you can get back to the hop!  I made my card using both the Big Pickup Cab and the Big Pickup Tailgate for a double-sided card!  When you die cut the two, they are mirror images that can be adhered at the top by creating a simple little hinge.

I stamped all of the images with Copic safe ink onto 80# Neenah solar white card stock.  Then I colored them with my Copic markers.  I used the coordinating Honey Cuts to cut them out.  I have all of the supplies listed below with links for you to check them out!

I stamped the sentiment from the Hoppy Easter set onto 80# Neenah, first with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide, then with Versamark clear ink.  I sprinkled on clear embossing powder and heat set it.  Next I die cut it with the coordinating Honey Cuts.

Here are the views of the front and back (or is it the back and front? Haha) of the card.

There are so many awesome new sets in the Spring Bliss release!  You can click that link to see it all.  I sure thank you for stopping by and hope you will leave a comment for me over on Instagram!  Be sure to check out all of the hop links and comment for your chance to win one of two $25 Honey Bee gift cards!
