Sending You Some Vitamin Sea Infinity Shaker Card

Today I have a super cute card featuring Rubbernecker Stamps adorable Vitamin Sea Set!  I've created this sparkly infinity edge shaker card for even more fun!!

Here are the steps for the shaker portion:

  • Use ink blender brushes and Color Fuse #9 inks with the Wavy stencil to create an "ocean like" background.  Stencil the darkest color at the bottom of an A2 card panel, working up to the lightest shade at the top.  (Pixie Spray on the back of the stencil will hold it in place.)
  • Trim about 1/8" off of one side and the top or bottom of the stenciled piece.  This will allow the panel to lay flat in the shaker pocket.
  • Place the stenciled piece in the shaker pocket.  Remove the adhesive backer from both sides and the bottom.  Fold over to adhere.  These A2 Shaker Pockets make it SO easy to create shaker cards!
  • Pour in the shaker bits (however much, or little, you want) and fold the top flap over to adhere.
  • Add strong double-sided adhesive to the back of the shaker and adhere to an A2 card base.

The card details:

  • Stamp the images from the Vitamin Sea set in Copic safe ink.  Color all of the images.  I used these Copic colors:  whale: C5, C3, C1, W3, W1; turtle: G99, G46, YG63, G94, G43; sea plants: G07, YG17, YG25, YG03, E57, E31.
  • Fussy cut the images.
  • Create a "sandy" sea floor by coloring a strip of scrap cardstock with E31 Copic marker.
  • Ink up the Splatter Background stamp set with Pecan ink (Color Fuse Set #3).  Randomly stamp it over the strip for a look of sand.
  • Trim the sand strip to 4-¼" and use liquid glue to adhere to the card.
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Vitamin Sea set in Versafine black ink.  Use a Nested Inside Scallop die to cut it out.  First place the top of the die near the top of the sentiment.  Run it through your die cutting machine.  Reposition the die by lining up the scallops on the edge with the bottom edge of the die near the bottom of the sentiment.  Die cut it.
  • Adhere the sentiment and all of the images to the shaker with liquid glue.
  • Adhere a few crystal dew drops above the turtle to emulate air bubbles.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful, and crafty, week!

Winter Card with Snowy Background Stenciling | Rubbernecker Stamps

Hello my friends!  I hope that you have had a wonderful Christmas season so far!  Today I'm sharing a winter card featuring Rubbernecker Stamps Pine Tree Set and the Wavy Stencil.  I think this card could be used for several different occasions such as a thank you, thinking of you, get well--it all depends on what you put on the inside of the card!

First I cut a piece of light blue card stock to 4" x 5-¼".  Then I sprayed the back of the Wavy Stencil with Pixie Spray.  This spray makes using detailed stencils like this one so much easier!  I spread some white Glitz Glitter Gel through the stencil with a pallet knife.  I removed the stencil and immediately washed off the gel.  When the gel was dry, I added the panel to an A2 top-folding card base.  I love to find out-of-the-box ways to use supplies--in my mind these "waves" equaled a blustery, windy, winter day!

Next I stamped and embossed the Pine Trees with Versamark ink and some glitter embossing powder from my stash.  The green glitter embossing powder is from a company no longer in business.  For the white tree I used Shabby White Embossing Enamel by Stampendous.  Be sure to heat set this from behind so the heat tool won't blow it off of the card stock.  I fussy cut the trees out and added foam tape to the back of three trees.

Next I stamped the sentiment from the Pine Trees Set with Versafine Onyx Black ink and fussy cut it out.  I added foam squares to the back.

Then I hand cut two sets of hills from 4" wide card stock.  I adhered them together and added them to the card.  To finish up, I arranged and adhered the sentiment and trees on the card.

Thank you all so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoy the remainder of the holidays!  Stay crafty!

New Under The Set #2 Set and Stenciling | Rubbernecker Stamps

Hello crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing two cards I made from one stencil panel I made with Rubbernecker Stamps' new release of the Wavy Stencil and the Under The Sea #2 stamp set and coordinating dies.

For my first card I used the adorable sea creatures from the new Under the Sea #2 set with the new    stencil.  I also challenged myself to get some no-line coloring practice in too!  Here are the steps for my card.

Create the background:

  • Prep the stencil by spraying the back of it with Pixie Spray.  This is a temporary adhesive that will hold the stencil in place and prevent any movement of the delicate lines.
  • Place the stencil onto a 6" x 6" piece of white card stock.  Blend all four ink colors from Color Fuse Set #9 in an ombré pattern using ink blending brushes.  Do not remove the stencil.
  • Use a pallet knife to spread Glitz Glitter Gel over the entire project.  Remove the stencil and wash it and your tools immediately.
  • Set the panel aside to dry.
  • When it is dry, use the largest Nested Rectangle Die to cut the panel.  (NOTE: place the die up to either the right or left edge of the stenciled panel to have a strip left over for another card.)
  • Adhere the die cut piece to a top-folding A2 card base.
  • These photos show my process:  1) my supplies; 2) after ink blending; 3) after adding glitter texture paste; and 4) so you can see the beautiful sparkle!

The card elements:

  • Stamp the images with Copic safe, no-line coloring ink.
  • Use Copic markers to color the fish.  Use a black Micron .005 pen to add in the details such as the eyes, mouths, and dots on the fish.
  • Next die cut with the coordinating dies.
  • Stamp one of the included sentiments from the Under The Sea #2 stamp set with black ink.  Then trim it into a rectangle.
  • Add foam tape to the fish, sentiment, and two pieces of the plants.  Add to the card front, using liquid glue to adhere the remaining plants.

I love the sparkle of the embossing paste and how it makes the ink colors even more beautiful!!  Now for my quick bonus card!

Card base:
  • Dry emboss a white A2 sized card panel with the Wavy Stencil by using the embossing sandwich recommended for your die cutting machine.  Adhere it to a top-folding card base.
  • The leftover strip from the previous card measured at about 1-3/8".  I trimmed the length to 5-¼".  Layer it onto a 1-5/8" x 5-½" piece of teal card stock and adhere it to the card front.

The card details:

  • Stamp the fish and worm in Copic safe black ink and color with a few Copic markers.  Die cut with the coordinating dies.
  • Stamp the sentiment in black ink, trim to a slim rectangle shape and layer it onto a teal card stock strip.  Add foam tape to the back.
  • Add foam tape to the back of the fish and add it to the card.
  • Plan where to place the sentiment and the worm, then use a ruler and black marker to draw a line, as shown.
  • Adhere the sentiment and add the worm with liquid glue.

I love the subtle dimension you get from dry embossing with the stencil!  Thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week.
