Autumn Grapevine Wreath Card

Happy Wednesday crafty friends!  For my card today, I've used some previously release Honey Bee Stamps products that I still love! I've made an autumn wreath with the awesome and versatile Grapevine Wreath Honey Cut. Keep reading to see which other products I've used for this beautiful wreath.

I started by die cutting two of the Grapevine Wreath Honey Cuts from light brown cardstock. Next I die cut the leaves and pumpkins found in the Itty Bitty Leaves and Itty Bitty Pumpkins sets. The berry stems are in the Country Christmas Wreath Honey Cuts (another favorite of mine), but you could use any branch and add berries to it too. The pieces were die cut from golden yellow, orange and white cardstock. 

I used the small ink blending brushes to add Distress Oxide inks to all of the pieces. Use any of the browns and warm autumn Oxides that you may have and it will be beautiful! Here's a list of the Distress Oxides I used:

• Rusty Hinge
• Fossilized Amber
• Crackling Campfire
• Spiced Marmalade
• Wild Honey
• Barn Door
• Aged Mahogany
• Fired Brick

Now, here is how I made the little berries! I inked Crackling Campfire Oxide onto some white cardstock. Then I used a 1/8" hole punch and punched until I had enough "berries" for my branches! Easy peasy!

I added layers of paper from the Grain and Grunge paper pad die cut with two of the Sweet Stacks: Rectangles to an A2 card base. I used Bee Creative glue to adhere the layers. This paper pad is filled with several different gorgeous wood plank and woodgrain papers!

Next I adhered the two Grapevine Wreaths together, offset, with dots of glue. Then first added a cute little orange gingham bow I made with ribbon from my stash. Then I began arranging and adhering the elements onto the wreath. I only added a drop or two of glue at the base of the leaves so I was able to tuck more leaves in.

I stamped the sentiment from the Bitty Buzzwords: Seasons stamp set in brown ink. I used the coordinating dies to cut the shadow once and the word "fall" three times from white cardstock. Then I die cut the stamped "fall" and adhered all of the layers together with glue. I added foam tape strips and dots to adhere the sentiment to the card.

To add a bit of shine, I added drops of Crystal Glaze to each berry.

Blue Bird in a Country Christmas Wreath Holiday Card

Hello crafty friends!  Today, as I did last week, I pulled out one of my most favorite previously released Honey Bee holiday sets. Some of the older set are still my most favorite and I'll never get rid of them! So I pulled out the beautiful Country Christmas Wreath  by Honey Bee and paired it with the new favorite Lovely Layers: Winter Birds!! My inspiration for this came from the raucous, but beautiful, Blue Jays we have here in Texas. They have a crest and a similar body shape to the Cardinal this is intended to be. I think it works!!

For ease of reading, I'll list the steps for each component of my card starting with the wreath.

• From the Country Christmas Wreath Honey Cuts, I die cut the wreath from 80# Neenah.
• Then I chose two shades of green cardstock from my stash and a piece of white 80# Neenah. Then I used the Fresh Balsam Distress Mica Stain to lightly spray the pieces.
• WOW! I ordered these recently and this is the first time I've used them. These sprays give such a beautiful shimmer and shine that a photo just cannot capture! (P.S.: I need them all--LOL!)
• Once the pieces were dry, I chose a few of the greenery dies in the Country Christmas Wreath and die cut them from the mica panels.
• I tried to keep count and think I die cut about 34 of the pine sprigs and maybe a dozen of the leafy branches. I die cut the small leafy sprigs from white cardstock.
• Then I put dots of glue on the small leafy sprigs and dipped them into Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter and set them aside to dry.

• I used glue and my reverse tweezers to arrange the pine branches and leafy sprigs around the die cut wreath.
• Lastly I added in the glittered small leafy sprigs around the wreath.
• I used a piece of paper from the Make It Merry paper pad and die cut it with the largest Deckle Edge A2 Honey Cut. Then I adhered it to an A2 card base.
• I used Bee Creative glue to adhere the wreath to my card base.

Next I created my "Blue Jay" inspired bird:

• I die cut the layers for the bird in the Lovely Layers: Winter Birds Honey Cuts from 80# Neenah. The feet, beak and eye is black cardstock. Did you know that there is a downloadable layering guide? The link to it is just under the product description in the Honey Bee shop.
• Then I used a couple of the little bitty Detail Blender brushes to color each layer. I used Prize Ribbon and Tumbled Glass.
• To get the lighter shade in the middle of the birds belly, I lightly inked on some Brilliant White pigment ink with a detail blender brush.

• I always begin with inking/coloring the bottom layer of all of the Lovely Layers sets. Even though you don't need to color the entire layer, I added some ink around all of the edges as I usually like to pop up the layers and didn't want the white cardstock to show.
• I added thin foam squares for dimension between the bird's body layers. I used glue to adhere the rest.
• Since the bird is sitting over the wreath, I added a few pieces of foam tape to the back to adhere it.
• I stamped the sentiment from the Let Nature Sing stamp set with Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink. I cut it out with the coordinating Honey Cut.
• As if there's not enough shimmer and shine, (Haha!) I added a few gem stickers from the Winter Wonder set onto some of the green leafy sprigs.

Baked With Love Apron Shaped Card | Honey Bee Stamps

 We are well into December now, and I'm still making Christmas Cards!  Today I'm sharing my card using Honey Bee Stamps Apron A2 Card die set.  I've made a sweet Christmas apron shaped card to go with some sweet treats that I baked.  This set is a previously released set that works beautifully with some new patterned paper and the sentiment I used on the inside of the card!

I began by die cutting the bigger A2 Apron Card die from some red card stock and from 80# Neenah.  I used the smaller apron die to cut red gingham paper from the Gingham Galore: Holiday paper pad and adhered it to the red die cut apron. I didn't use the apron pocket in the set, but chose the apron pocket from the Apron Garden Tools Add-on set.  I thought the shape and the scalloped edge were perfect for my Christmas apron!  The patterned paper for the top layer of the pocket is from the Specialty Holiday Card Pack that's free with a qualifying purchase, while supplies last.

Next I used a couple of the sentiments from the Bitty Buzzwords: Holidays and stamped them on the other white die cut apron with Intense Black ink and red ink from my stash.  Then I added strips of leftover gingham and red card stock near the bottom with Bee Creative glue.

So....you did you notice that the hinge I die cut (it's a die in the Apron: A2 die set) and adhered covered up part of my strips near the bottom.  Yep, I didn't notice that "oops" until I photographed the card!  Well, it is handmade, not Hallmark, right?  Haha!

Moving on, I then stamped the elements for the card front.  The sentiment and the baking tools are from the Baked With Love stamp set.  After stamping with Intense Black ink, I colored them with my Copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

I wanted some greenery to tuck in the apron pocket and found these pieces that were leftover from a previous project using the Country Christmas Wreath.  Do you save the extra bits in the hope to use it another time?  I always do!!  The little gingerbread cookie is also from this set and another leftover.

I arranged the elements in the apron pocket and adhered them with Bee Creative glue.  I popped the sentiment up with foam squares.  I used a #10 white gel pen to add the stitches on the apron and dots on the scalloped edge of the pocket.

There are so many of Honey Bee's sets that were previously released and are my favorites!  I love being able to pull some out to use with the new products!  Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope the rest of your week is fabulous, and crafty!!
