New Gingerbread Cubbies | Art Impressions

Hi friends!  Are you ready for more new and adorable Cubbies set from Art Impressions?  My card today features the new Gingerbread Cubbies set.  This set is just totally adorable and I just had to add lots of sparkle and shine to this card!  This makes it perfect as inspiration for the new Art Impressions Challenge:  Make It Sparkle!

As I've said before, these set are so fun and easy to use!  You get all of the coordinating dies to cut out the house and all of the other pieces.  There are six gumdrop dies so you can die cut several at once to save some time.  The die for the house cuts all of the little openings including the door and windows that are interactive.

I stamped everything with Copic safe ink onto some Neenah 80# cardstock and colored them with the Copic markers listed below.  I then die cut them with the coordinating dies.  I like to add foam tape to the back of the house--I think it makes it easier to add the pieces in the openings & I like the dimension it adds too!  I also one of the Rectangle A2 Double Stitched dies to die cut some white glitter paper.  I added the layers to a top-folding A2 card base.

Now it's time to have fun and place the images all around.  I though it was funny to have the two gingerbread people sliding down the snowy roof!  Haha!  I stamped the sentiment, die cut it with a Tag Stitched die and added a brad from my stash to it.  I popped it up with some thin foam tape.  Once everything was adhered, I added some sparkle and shine with a clear sparkle pen and some clear glaze to various images.

Happy Halloween | Art Impressions

Happy Monday friends!  I'm over on Art Impressions blog today with this fun Halloween card.  I've used one of the stamps in the Halloween Magic set for my card.

This card was very easy to create.  I used the two spider web stamps that are from the HM Accessory Set to create the background.  I stamped them with some kraft colored ink onto a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock.

I stamped the main image onto some Neenah 80# cardstock with Copic safe ink and colored it with the Copic markers that I've listed below.  I trimmed it down to a rectangle shape that ended up being 5" x 1-7/8".  I used some coordinating patterned paper from my stash for the layers behind it.

The sentiment inside the card is also from the Halloween Magic set.  I added a few of the spider webs  for interest.

So Thankful For You | Honey Bee Stamps

Happy Thursday friends!  I'm over on the Honey Bee Stamps blog today with an autumn card that features the new Fall Bouquets Honey Cuts.

In my early card making days, one of the first types of cards I made was using die cut, shaped florals.  For this card today, I pulled out my flower shaping kit (it includes several different sizes of styluses and a little paper rolling tool) and added shape and dimension to all of my die cuts.  Almost all of the die cuts were made using scraps from my paper scrap drawer!  I do love being able to use some of them up.  

First I die cut the pumpkin from a piece of linen look paper from the Harvest Festival 6x6 paper pad. I've recently seen these adorable fabric pumpkins in stores and was inspired by those!  The die adds some pretty embossed lines that add interest to the shape.  I enhanced those by using a brown Micron .05 archival ink pen to follow the embossed lines.  I then uses three Copic markers to add shading (the Micron pen didn't smear either--yay!)  The Copics I used are E41, E42, and E43.

Next I die cut the flowers and leaves used various Distress Inks to add shading.  The colors you use will depend upon the cardstock color, of course.  For my pieces, I used Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge.  The way I learned to shape the flowers is to very lightly mist the back of the die cut with water.  Then place it onto a piece of foam and use a stylus to curve the piece on the backside.  Then flip it over and use the stylus in the center of the flower to cup it upwards.  I added some mini Prills to some of the flower centers with liquid glue.  For the leaves I misted the back and then used a small stylus and followed the embossed line in the center of the leaves. I arranged the flowers and leaves adhering them with 3D Foam Squares and liquid adhesive.

 

Even though the super light misting with water doesn't seem like much, it makes the paper easy to mold.  Also, when it dries, the paper will hold its shape quite well!  For the card base, I used more paper from the Harvest Festival pad and added the layers to an A2 card base.  I used the Thankful Honey Cuts for my sentiment.  I cut the middle layer once and layered three of the die cut words on top for dimension.  That was topped off with some Glossy Accents.  I stamped the rest of the sentiment that's from the Grateful stamp set onto a scrap piece of the linen-look paper with Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide.

This was such a fun card to make!  The Fall Bouquet Honey Cuts also comes with a Mason Jar shaped die and I can totally see using this in the spring with pinks, purples, and all the colors of spring!  Thank you so much for stopping by!  Happy crafting!  Carol :)

New Snowman Wheelie & Week 2 of Use Circles Challenge | Art Impressions

It's time for another Art Impressions challenge and this one is called Use Circles!  There are some adorable new Wheelie sets just released that are just right for this challenge.

My card today uses the new Snowman Wheelie set.  This is so adorable and I wonder what that snowman is going after on his bike!  Haha!

I stamped all the images onto Neenah Solar White 80# paper using Ink on 3 Blackout Detail ink, which is safe for alcohol markers.  I colored everything with my markers which I've listed below.  I used a circle die (another circle element) to die cut the image.  All of the directions you need to make the interactive wheelie portion of this card are on the back of the packaging.  There are dies included to cut out the wheel, the leg pieces, a hole for the brad, and the tab on the inside of the card that you turn to spin the wheel on the front.

After I used the circle die to cut out the image, I added some extra touches.  First I used a snowfall stencil to carefully (I didn't want to cut out a mask-LOL!) add some glitter gel.  I added some "snow" at the bottom using a Tsukineko Radiant Neon Amplify pen.  Y'all, this is a game changer to get that snowy look!!!!  It's a nice bright white and it puffs up when you add heat with your heat tool.  I tossed another one into the trash after using this one!  I also added some clear sparkle to the snowman and clear glaze to the ornaments.

This card is 5-1/2" square.  I added the circle layers to some patterned paper that I adhered onto the square card base.  I stamped the sentiment from the set with black ink and die cut it using a die from the Flag Double Stitched die set.

Spooky Holiday Mansion | Art Impressions

Happy Monday friends!  I'm over on the blog at Art Impressions today.  I've made the Holiday Mansion all spooky (but not too spooky!) by using the HM Accessory Set.

This little green monster inside the door cracks me up!

All the images are stamped in Copic safe ink and colored with the Copics listed below.  I die cut all the little elements out with the included dies and fussy cut the house.

I wanted a moon so I die cut a circle from some masking paper before I inked up the background with Distress Oxide inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock.  I used some awesome new blending brushes that made it so easy!  I added some water splatters and white gauche splatters to finish the night sky.  I left room at the bottom to ink in some green Oxides for the ground.  I removed the mask and ink in yellow Oxide and then used a couple light gray Copics to add spots on the moon.

I backed the windows and door with vellum that I stamped the webs and eyes with StazOn black ink.  I used a white gel pen on the back of the eyes to color them in.  The sentiment is heat embossed in white onto black cardstock.  I used a die from the Flag Double Stitched dies to cut it out.  It, and the house, is popped up with foam tape.

Honey Bee Stamps & Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® Fall Beauty

Hello friends!  I absolutely loved creating this card using the beautiful Fall Beauty stamp set available at Simon Says Stamp.  This set a collaboration between Honey Bee Stamps and Simon Says Stamp for their STAMPtember® celebration. (You can read all about STAMPtember®  HERE.)  It's extra special this year as it's their 10th anniversary of STAMPtember®.

This card measures 6-¼" square--I just couldn't cut this beautiful image after I was done!  LOL!

I stamped the image onto Bristol Smooth cardstock as I originally intended to just use my Zig Clean Color markers to color it.  I had an image in my head of the colors I wanted, and just wasn't getting that with the Zigs.  So I started playing around with various color combinations.  (Tip:  Always stamp two of your image so you have one to experiment on.)  I didn't really need a lot of watercolors for this and used several different types.  I have them all listed at the end.  For each color combination, I just used two to three colors.  

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink (after using my anti-static powder) onto heavy-weight vellum and heat embossed it with Honey Bee's BEE Sweet Embossing Powder.  I fussy cut it out.  I wanted just a bit of dimension to help it stand out a bit.  So I used mini glue dots and hid them behind the embossing.  I used my finger to roll them up like little logs before sticking them onto the back of the sentiment behind the embossing.   That way they don't show at all!

Hello and happy Monday!  I'm on the blog over at Art Impressions today and I'm using the fun Woodland Tree Cubbies set on my card.

All of the Cubbies are so easy to use.  Just stamp, color, and then use the included, coordinating dies to cut it out.  The Copic marker colors I used are listed below.  This time I added a bunch of autumn colored leaves for a fall card.  I also used the pumpkin stamp from the Grateful Hearts set.



The elements in this set are so fun and figure out where you want to place the little critters!  So much so that I totally forgot to leave a spot on the card front for the sentiment!  Haha!  So I stamped it on the inside with a couple of birds.



There are so many ways to create your scene since the critters can be placed wherever you want!

Fall Splendor | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends!  I'm over on the blog at Honey Bee Stamps today  It's still super hot here, but I'm getting in the mood for fall!  If you haven't seen all of the amazing new stamps, dies, and stencils from Honey Bee Stamps Autumn Blessings release, you really should check it out!  There is something for everyone!

I'm so happy to finally be getting to use the beautiful Pumpkin Patch Stamps and Honey Cuts and the Fall 4x4 Stamp Set!  

I stamped the pumpkins, leaves and acorns onto some watercolor paper in Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I used my MISTI to stamp twice to make sure I had good coverage on the watercolor paper.  I heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.  I then used just about every watercolor medium I had that was in fall colors!  LOL!  I used a few Daniel Smith colors, several Distress Inks, a few Tombows and Zig Clean Color Brush Markers.  It doesn't show a lot in my photos, but I added some Liquid Pixie Dust to some of the final layers of paint on the pumpkins.  This gives them a very pretty, and subtle, sparkle.  I just kept adding different shades of oranges, yellows, golds, greens, and browns until I was happy.  It was really so fun to just play with the colors!  I used the coordinating Pumpkin Patch Honey Cuts to die cut everything.

For the background I die cut watercolor paper with the largest Double Stitched Ovals Honey Cut.  Keeping the cut paper in the die so there would be a white border, I used the NEW Honey Bee Stamps Background Blender Brushes to blend on some Distress Oxides inks in Fossilized Amber and Mowed Lawn.  Let me tell you, these brushes are a game changer to achieve smooth ink blending!!  I also added a few splatters of watered down Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide.

The sentiment is from the Fall set stamped in Versafine and trimmed.  I blended Carved Pumpkin, Fossilized Amber, and Mustard Seed Oxides onto some scratch Neenah Solar White to fit the Fall Honey Cut and die cut it out.  I also cut it from some black cardstock, adhering it slightly offset behind the ink blended one.

I arranged and adhered everything with liquid glue and 3D foam squares to the background oval.  For my card base, I used the largest Scallop Ovals Honey Cuts to die cut two pieces from some orange cardstock.    I scored one piece about ½" from the top to create a hinge for opening the card.  Finally, I added some sparkle to the fall die cut and topped it off with Glossy Accents--love the dimension that gives it!

Ghoul Friends, Art Impressions

Happy Monday friends!  I have this card over on the Art Impressions blog today that features the fun Ghoul Friends set.  I'm definitely in the mood for fall as it's still ridiculously hot here in Texas!

I used a Copic safe ink to stamp the gals and colored them with the markers listed below.  I used a gold Gelly Roll pen to add dots to the purple dress for some shine.  I also used a Copper Metallic Gelly Roll pen to add sparkle to the orange shoes and the pumpkin costume.  I used a Square Double Stitched die to cut the image out.

I layered everything using a Halloween paper pad I got last year at Michaels.  I stamped the spider web from the Ghoul Friends set and fussy cut it out.  I popped it up with a foam square and added it next to the sentiment.
