A Beautiful 3D Heart Embossed Birthday Card (or Valentine Card)

Hello Honey Bee friends!  Today I'm sharing my card that features the gorgeous Floral Heart Embossing Folder and Honey Cuts die.  This would certainly make a wonderful Valentine's Day card, but I may save it to give to our daughter for her birthday in February!  P.S.:  She loves pink!

I used the Floral Heart 3D embossing folder for the background and a brayer to make the two-color background.  For an easier read, I am putting the steps in a list for you.  

• Before I added the ink to the folder, I prepped the de-bossed side by pressing the Bee Creative Clear Embossing Ink pad over the surface.  Then I used a clean paper towel to lightly wipe away any excess.
• Next I rolled my brayer over the Spun Sugar Distress Ink pad repeatedly to ink it up, and then rolled the ink onto the embossed folder (de-bossed side).
• I repeated this step until the folder was fully inked.
• Next I placed a 5" x 7" piece of white cardstock into the embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine.
• Remove the panel from the embossing folder and place the Floral Heart die onto the embossed heart.  Use removable tape to hold it in place while die cutting.
• Die cut another heart from white cardstock, place it into the Floral Heart embossing folder.  Hold it in place with tape and then emboss it.
• Run through your die cutting machine to cut out the heart.
• This will flatten the embossing.  If you want, (and I did), I carefully fit the panel back into the Floral Heart embossing folder.  I used some tape to hold the panel in place while I ran it through my machine again.
• Now you have a beautiful two-color embossed panel and heart!

Next I cut the Lovely Layers: Bow and Bough dies from white cardstock.  I used ink blending brushes with Spun Sugar and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide inks to color the pieces.  The leaves were die cut from green cardstock.  All of the bow layers are adhered with glue.

I die cut the Lovely Layers: Heart Vine twice from white cardstock.  I colored the bottom layer with Kitsch Flamingo Oxide ink and adhered the layers with glue.

The Floral Heart embossed panel is adhered to a 5" x 7" card base with foam tape with the white embossed heart glued to the card.

I arranged the Bow and Bough Pieces with the Heart Vine pieces near the top of the heart and adhered them in place with glue.  Note:  I snipped each Heart Vine into two pieces for the arrangement.

The sentiment is from the Great Greetings: Love Honey Cuts.  I die cut the base from white cardstock and colored them with Kitsch Flamingo.  The top layer is die cut three times each.  I adhered all of the layers together with glue.

Happy Sunday crafty friends!  Today I'm over on the blog at Brass & Bliss Craft Co. with all of the details of my card featuring the Rose Border die.  I thought it was really funny to add a snarky sentiment to this elegant card!  Haha!  It would be perfect for Valentine's Day or for an anniversary.  I plan on giving it to my husband and can't wait to see his reaction to the sentiment!! LOL!

I'm just hitting the highlights here, so be sure to head over to the Brass & Bliss blog for all of the steps to make this fun card.  I layered the Rose Border die after coloring each piece to make an ombre border.

The background panel is white on white with texture paste added through the Stacked Hearts Stencil.

I added a pink mat layer behind the sentiment from the I Adore You stamp set.  Both pieces are die cut with a rectangle scalloped die.

Before adhering the sentiment with foam tape I added two vellum Open Greenery die cuts.

Fun To Make Miniature Valentine Cards | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends!  Today I'm sharing a set of miniature Valentine cards I made using a few sets from Honey Bee Stamps' newest Love Letters release!  When I first saw these adorable, punny and fun sets I knew it would be fun to make little Valentine cards, kind of like the ones I remember dropping into classmates' decorated Valentine boxes in school.  Anyone else remember that?  This would be such a fun and easy project for your littles too!  Read on to see how easy these are to make!

Warning--this will be a photo-heavy post!  Since the directions for each card are the same, I'll try to keep them short!

• Die cut white card stock and some colored card stock with the Slimline Sentiments: Stitched die.
• Score each die cut at 4-¼" and fold to create a 3-½" x 4"-¼" top folding card.  This will give each card the cute stitching along three edges!
• Cut pieces of patterned paper to 3" x 4".  I used paper from Love Letters, Sweet On You, and Hot Tropics paper pads.
• Adhere the patterned paper to the card bases with Bee Creative glue.
• Next stamp all the cute images with Copic safe ink and die cut with the coordinating dies.  I added the cute little faces to the images after I colored them to make sure nothing smeared.  My images are from these sets:  Heart Beets For You stamps and Honey Cuts; Love you S'More stamps and Honey Cuts  and Soy Mates stamps and Honey Cuts.
• Now stamp the sentiments in black ink and die cut with the coordinating dies.

Now it's just a matter of building your cards!  I used Bee Creative glue and foam squares to adhere the adorable images and sentiments.  I added acrylic hearts to several cards and dew drops to one.

These first five photos are all from the Heart Beets For You stamps and Honey Cuts.  I've used these acrylic hearts:  Red Hots, Dappled Moss, and Sugared Peach.

I've used the Love you S'More stamps and Honey Cuts for the next two cards.  I used Strawberry Ice acrylic hearts on the pink card.

My final three cards are made with the Soy Mates stamps and Honey Cuts.  I added Red Hots acrylic hearts to the first card and Coffee dew drops on the second card.
