I 🩷 U -- A Sweet Card For Someone You Love!

Hello Honey Bee friends!! I had lots of fun getting inky to create my card that features the beautiful Bold Background: Vines Of Love Honey Cuts!!  Read on for how to create these inky backgrounds for your die cuts!

I used two pieces of 80# Neenah for the backgrounds. I chose three shades of green ink pads (light, medium, and dark) and three of pink ink pads. Then I used Detail Blending Brushes and blended the green inks in spots all over one piece of the white cardstock, blending until the piece was covered in the shades of green. I repeated this for the pink inks.

Next I added some water splatters to each piece. I used my heat tool to dry them. Then I spritzed Fossilized Amber Distress Spritz onto the green piece. For the pink panel I spritzed on Picked Raspberry Distress Spritz. These Distress Spritzes add such a beautiful shimmer!

I die cut the panels with the dies in the Bold Background: Vines Of Love. Using the Layering Guide found in the product description, I used glue to adhere the layers. Then I glued the piece to a white A2 card base.

I die cut the sentiment with dies from the BEE Playful Lowercase Alphabet and the Stacking Hearts dies from the pink inked panel. Then I die cut two more each from white cardstock and used glue to adhere the layers together. Next I added glue to the bottom part of each die cut and sprinkled on some chunky glitter. When the glue dries, I die cut an oval from the Sweet Stacks: Ovals and glued the sentiment to it.

I had a bit more inky fun dying my white ribbon to coordinate with the Vines Of Love. It's easy to do! Just use a small container/dish and place your ribbon in it. Then add drops of alcohol ink to the ribbon. Add several drops of rubbing alcohol to dilute. I used my die pick tool to move the ribbon around to fully saturate it. Use your tweezers to pick up the ribbon and place it onto a clean paper towel to dry. (I don't have many alcohol inks, but do have Alcohol Pearl in the color called Intrigue, and this worked quite nicely.  All supplies are linked in the list below.)

After I tied the ribbon around the card front, I added foam tape strips to the back of the sentiment to adhere it to the card.

Hearts, Home, & Patterned Paper Card

 Hello crafty friends!! While we await the new Vintage Love release from Honey Bee Stamps on January 31, it gives me the chance to pull out previously released favorite sets to create with. Today my card is all about heart and home and features the Spring Cottage Village dies and No Place Like Home sentiments.

Often, when I am using products that I've used before, I like to try to think of something different to do. This time I used a sheet of beautiful paper from the Marvelous Moments paper pad. I chose the paper that has a flower border around three sides. I trimmed one end of the paper to 4-¼" x 5-½" and glued it to an A2 card base. My "something different" is to use my scissors to trim around the flowers of the remaining piece of the paper. When I had it all trimmed, I added thin foam dots to the flower border and adhered it in the bottom left corner of the card.

Next I chose a cottage from the Spring Cottage Village dies and cut the pieces from 80# Neenah. I used various inks in my stash that coordinate with the patterned paper colors to color the cottage elements. I used glue with a fine tip, and my reverse tweezers, to assemble the cottage.

I die cut a Stacking Hearts die from 80# Neenah and used removable tape to mask off the bottom so I could add green ink with a blender brush. Before I removed the mask, I added ink splatters in the same green ink diluted with a drop or two of water. Then I masked off the green and repeated the steps with blue ink.

I used glue to adhere the cottage and tree to the ink blended heart. Next I chose a coordinating solid paper in the Marvelous Moments paper pad and die cut a Scallop Hearts from it. I glued it to the card base and the other heart on top with foam dots.

The sentiment from the No Place Like Home set is stamped in black ink and die cut with the coordinating die.

You Are So Loved -- 3D Embossing & Hot Foil Fun

Hello crafty friends! Do you send Valentine cards? Whether you do or not, my card that I'm sharing today could be a Valentine, birthday, or even an anniversary card! It all just depends on the message you add inside the card! I've featured some of my favorite sets from Honey Bee including the Spring Medley 3D embossing folder and the Lovely Layers: Heart Vine Honey Cuts!

First I die some peach colored cardstock with a Stacking Hearts die. Then I embossed the piece with the beautiful Spring Medley 3D embossing folder. Next I trimmed it to 4" x 5-¼". I used a blending brush to add coordinating ink just around the edges.

I glued a piece of acetate to the back to cover the heart opening. When it was dry, I added thick foam tape (if you don't have thick foam tape, add a double layer) around the heart, being careful to leave no gaps between the ends of the foam tape. I also added foam tape around the edges of the embossed panel.

I sprinkled some pretty bling from my stash onto the acetate and then removed the foam tape backing. I added another piece of acetate to cover the opening. Then I removed the backing of the rest of the foam tape, added glue to it, and then adhered it to an A2 card base. (I sometimes add glue to foam tape for two reasons: you can be sure it is firmly adhered and it allows you to slightly move the panel for correct placement.) I set this aside to dry.

Next I die cut a Scallop Heart from 80# Neenah. Then I die cut a darker shade of peach cardstock with a Stacking Hearts die. I placed this heart into the Spring Medley 3D embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine. I used glueto adhere them together.

I used my Glimmer Hot Foil System and Blush Glimmer Foil to foil the sentiment from the Foil Script: Love Hot Foil Plates. I cut it out with the included coordinating die.  NOTE: I just noticed this set is "retiring" and is now at a reduced price!

Before I die cut the outline of the Lovely Layers: Heart Vine, I added a piece of Tear Tape Sheet to the back of brushed gold cardstock. I die cut the outline from the brushed gold cardstock and also the solid layer from peach cardstock. I used glue to adhere the layers together and also to adhere it to the card. After I glued the heart layers onto the card, I adhered the sentiment with narrow foam tape strips.

For a bit more shine, I added some gold pearls from the Metallic Mix Pearl Stickers set.
