Hello friends! As promised on my Instagram post, I have the details for my Gnome card using this adorable Honey Bee Stamps Gnome Place Like Home set.
For coloring the images, I stamped them with Ink on 3's Fadeout Detail Ink. I used my MISTI and stamped them about three times so I could see the light colored ink better. I colored them with my Copic markers (I've listed the colors at the end of my post.) I used the coordinating Honey Cuts to die cut them out.
Next I used the Winter Wonder Background Stencil Set (set of 6) to create my background. The mountain and hill stencils can be snipped apart, then you have a stencil and a mask. I used Pixie Spray, which is a repositionable adhesive and makes stenciling SO easy! Just spray it on the back, wait about a minute, and you're good to go.
I started at the top, placed one stencil down, used a couple Detail Blender Brushes, then used the mask portion, and the next stencil portion. I used Distress Oxides in these colors: Stormy Sky, Tumbled Glass, Lucky Clover, Mowed Lawn, and Weathered Wood. I very lightly added the Weathered Wood for a shadow effect on the snowy hills.
Next I used one of the snow stencils from the same set to add snow. I used Wendy Vecchi's Embossing Paste through the stencil. I let it dry, and to my dismay, I found that the moisture of the embossing paste picked up the Distress Oxide color below it! Thankfully, it didn't take too long to use a white gel pen to go over the snowflakes to make them white again.
I also used the white gel pen to add snow to the trees and the girl gnome's dress. I added a clear sparkle pen to the hills at the bottom and the vellum shadow layer behind the sentiment. Oh, I used my blue Copics on a scratch piece of card stock in an ombre pattern then die cut the sentiment.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I do so appreciate that! Carol :)
