Together Is A Good Place To Be

Hello friends!  I'm sharing this card I made with two of Spellbinders Club Kits.  I've used August's 3D Embossing Folder (Underwater Waltz) and the Betterpress Press Plate (Fish Parade).

For the background, first I put white cardstock in the Underwater Waltz 3D embossing folder and ran it through my Platinum die cutting machine.  I turned the embossed panel to the back (with the de-bossed side up).  Then I inked direct to paper with three shades of teal ink (listed below).  This left the de-bossed areas white!  So fun!  I glued the panel to a piece of coordinating colored cardstock and then to an A2 card base.

I decided to try foiling the Fish Parade press plate instead of using it with my BetterPress letterpress.  I turned on my Glimmer Hot Foil System to heat up.  When it was ready I placed the press plate face up onto the Glimmer platform.  I added a piece of Silver Holographic Speckle glimmer foil on top of the plate.  Then I put a piece of Glimmer Specialty Clear Film Sheets over both.  This is a heat resistant acetate that foils beautifully!

After I added the spacer shims and ran it through my Platinum, I removed the foil and used my scissors to trim around the image.

I added foam tape to the back of the foiled acetate, hiding the pieces of foam behind some of the fishes.

The sentiment is from the Fish Parade set and pressed with my LetterPress in a teal ink.  After I cut it out with the coordinating die, I added foam tape to adhere it to the card.

The iridescent sparkle is so pretty!  I hope you've been inspired by my card today.  Have a fabulous and crafty weekend!!

You Inspire Me!

I'm back with more cards featuring two of the Spellbinders Club Kits for May!  Both cards are beautiful, but totally different!!  I'm packing for a short trip to leave for tomorrow so you get a short post!  Haha!  Please let me know if you have any questions by using my "contact me" form to the left of this post.

This first card features the beautiful 3D Embossing Folder for May called Stacked Stories.  I kept this one pretty simple in order to show off the gorgeous embossed details.

I added two die cut florals from the Field Notes Wildflowers die set.  I tucked the floral stems under the Sealed Twine die cut.

The sentiment is from Spellbinders All-Occasion 1 Wax Seal Stamp Set.  I love how this is the only sentiment needed!  I colored over the raised portions of the wax seal with a gold pen so the sentiment stood out more.

My second card is a bright and cheerful rainbow-colored card!

I used an ink blending brush to add a rainbow of inks to an A2 white cardstock piece.  Then I put it into the Stacked Stories embossing folder to emboss it and then glued it to an A2 card base.

I used May's Betterpress of the Month called From A To Z.  I tapped various ink colors in a rainbow order onto 110# cardstock before I ran it through my BetterPress System.

Then I die cut the piece out with a die from the Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals die set.  I added a scallop layer and black cardstock layer to the From A To Z piece before I popped it up with foam tape.

TIP:  I wanted a very narrow black mat oval layer.  There is an oval layering die in the Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals die set and I used that die to trace around onto black cardstock.  Then I used my scissors to cut just inside my pencil line for the layer

The sentiment is one of two included in the May Betterpress set.  There are dies included to cut them out with, but I needed to trim the sentiment to fit my card.  After I added a black layer I popped it up with foam strips.  The bow is from the Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals die set.

I had some greenery in my "extras" pocket.  It is from Spellbinders, but I'm sorry that I don't know for sure which set.

I love both of these cards and it was fun using these Club Kits in two dramatically different styles.

Thanks so very much for stopping by today!

Vivid Blooms Floral Card with Letterpress Background

Today I'm sharing details about this card I made featuring Spellbinders gorgeous February BetterPress Of The Month Club Kit!   This beautiful press plate, Luxe Damask, made an awesome background for the die cuts from the Vivid Blooms die set!

The February BetterPress press plate actually presses two rows of the Luxe Damask pattern.  There is a preprinted "registration template" with guide lines for placement of the press plate to get a perfect pattern for a full card front.

I used three shades of yellow ink for the Luxe Damask press plate and the flowers from the Vivid Blooms die set.  The inks are linked in the list below.  After you tape the registration template to your magnetic insert on the BetterPress Letterpress System's chase, you line up the press plate according to the template.  Ink up the press plate and run the chase through your die cutting machine.  I use a Platinum 6.

Then I moved the Luxe Damask press plate to the next set of lines on the template and repeated the above steps until I had the entire piece of Porcelain cotton card covered with the pattern.

I used several of the dies from the Vivid Blooms die set and cut them from white, light green, and dark green cardstocks.

I used blending brushes to add yellow inks to the flowers and a black Copic marker for the flower centers.

The sentiment is one of three sentiment press plates (and coordinating dies) included with the February BetterPress of the month.  I pressed it with black ink onto Porcelain cotton card.  I used foam tape to pop it up on the card.

I wish you could see the beautiful impressed, textured background this Luxe Damask press plate creates!  You can check out all of the Spellbinders Club Kits and the information for subscribing by clicking HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful, crafty weekend!
