Happy 8th Anniversary, Altenew!
I am so thrilled to be joining in the celebration of Altenew's 8th anniversary! I have been an Altenew fan for several years now and you may have heard my squeal last year when I was invited to guest design by May. I'm so very honored to be creating and sharing cards with Altenew wonderful products!
This is Day 3 of the celebration, and today, you should have arrived here from Teresa Litchfield's blog. If you'd like to start at the beginning, head on over to the Altenew Card Blog; or keep reading and you will see the complete hop list below. Also, I have all the details of the awesome prizes from Altenew and 26 wonderful companies/crafty friends who are celebrating with us!
For my celebration card(s) I chose one of my most favorite of Altenew's products--a 3D embossing folder that I used to create two cards from.
I've seen several crafters cut a large image into two pieces to make two cards, but I had not ever done that. But today is a new day, and I gave it a go! LOL! I love how these turned out, kind of the same, but not!
I used the embossing folder that is in the Craft Your Life: Seasonal Blooms Project Kit for these cards. This embossing folder, and in fact, the entire Kit, is a gorgeous set and has so many possibilities for creating cards and other projects!
After I ran the embossing folder through my die cutting machine, I used ink blending tools to add color through the Season Blooms Simple Coloring Stencil Set (included in the kit). I used Citrus Burst, Maple Yellow, Chamomile, Shadow Creek, and Ultramarine Crisp Dye Inks for the coloring.
I added gray shadows around the images with a few Copic markers that make the image stand out more. I used a sentiment from the Tranquility Rose stamp set. After I stamped it with black ink, I trimmed it into a strip and popped it up with foam tape.
This card's background is one I colored with a B12 Copic. Then I used a scrap piece of a towel and some Colorless Blender ink to add the texture to it.
Be sure to leave a comment below for your chance at a wonderful prize! Keep reading for the special offer, prize information, and hop list! Happy hopping!
