New Tea Circlet Mini Try-Fold | Art Impressions

Hello friends!  We are beginning week two of the All Layered Up challenge over at Art Impressions.  For my inspiration card, I used the so sweet and new Tea Circlet MTF!

I followed the directions on the packaging to create my card base.  Next, follow the directions for stamping and using the included die cuts to cut the openings.  I colored the images with my Copic markers (colors listed below.)  Yes, the Copic coloring does show as the card is opened, but it really doesn't bother me at all.

I added some pretty patterned paper for my layering using a pencil to trace the openings and then die cutting them.  The sentiment on the card front is from the WC Sentiments set.

I thought that sentiment went well with the one that's part of the stamp on the inside of the card.

Gardening Circlet Birthday Card | Art Impressions

Happy Monday friends!  I'm over on Art Impressions' blog today with a sweet birthday card featuring the  beautiful Gardening Circlet MTF set.

This card is very easy to create as the directions for the card size, where to fold and stamp are all included on the back of the packaging.  First I stamped the images and used the dies to cut the openings in the first two panels.

I decided to use my Prismacolor Pencils to color these as the images are a bit on the small side.  Keeping your pencils very sharp at all times makes the coloring very easy!

I love this row of birds!  The illustration reminds me of the sweet Chickadees that visit our backyard bird feeders.  I did a web search of images of them to use as a guide for my coloring.  Note:  you do not need to use as many pencil colors as I did--I just wanted to do a lot of shading.  The list of the colors I used are at the end of this post.

I used a sentiment from the Exclusive Hydrangeas Set and stamped it with black ink.  I definitely used my MISTI to stamp this since I sure didn't want to mess it up after all of my coloring!  Haha!

Nativity Circlet MTF & Week 2 of Tag or Ornament Challenge | Art Impressions

Hello friends!  My card today features the new Nativity Circlet MTF.  It's Week 2 of the Tag or Ornament Challenge over at Art Impressions, so I've made an ornament for inspiration!

I stamped all three images in Copic safe ink and colored them with the Copics listed below.  Here are a photo of each image colored for you to see what each layer looks like in case you'd like to make the trifold card this set is designed for.

I used the coordinating dies included in the set to cut out the openings.  (I used my craft knife to cut out the openings in the fence of the top layer.)  I then used circle dies and a tag shaped die to cut them out.  I also stamped the base layer that has the sentiment again and used two circle dies to cut just the sentiment out.  I adhered the sentiment onto the top layer so it will show when I have the ornament assembled.  

If you don't have THIS foam tape in your stash, you NEED it!  Haha!  It really makes popping up smaller images so easy!  I removed the backer to easily shape it around the circle, as you can see here:

As you can see here, I used the scallop tag die to cut a white glitter tag.  I didn't like the all white tag so I die cut the base layer with a circle die so the sparkly tag will show.  I cut the hole reinforcer included in the die set (see the listed supplies) from some silver mirror paper and used ribbons from my stash.

I wish the photos could show the pretty dimension better!

Hello!  I'm on the Art Impressions' blog to kick off the latest Ai challenge featuring Stripes and Circles.

For our Stripes and Circles challenge I'm using the beautiful new Front Porch Circlet Mini TryFold.  I wanted to do something a bit different with this Circlet and decided to make a cute tag!

Since I wanted the images to be stamped crisp and clear, I used Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock.  To step it up even a bit more, I pulled out a couple of my long neglected Watercolor Sets and stamped a wreath around the first two circle images.   I wasn't totally certain how this would work with the water color stamps, but I have to say it worked great!  I stamped each image onto a piece of Bristol Smooth using Versafine Onyx Black in, which is waterproof.

After stamping each image, I stamped the wreath using the techniques that Bonnie teaches in her watercolor videos.  To color the images I scribbled each marker color onto my pallet and used a barely damp paint brush to color each one.  (The markers I used are listed at the end of this post.)

I then used the awesome new Tag Stitched Dies set to cut each one into a tag shape.  I used the reinforcer die from this set to cut the shape to go around the tag hole where the ribbon is.

And the third layer.  (FYI, I have a yellow front door on our home!:)

I love the sentiment:  "No matter where you go, you can always come home."  Sweet!

I love how this came together.  It would be perfect to give as a card, or tied onto a package for a pretty gift tag.  Of course, you can make this as a mini Tryfold following the directions on the back of the packaging.  I hope you've enjoyed seeing my different take on this Circlet.  I can't wait to see your creations linked up for the challenge on Art Impressions' blog!  I also have more details and photos there too.   Happy crafting!
