Sweet Bees Notecards with Box

Oh my sweet bees!  I'm so excited to share this first post as a member of the Honey Bee Stamps Social Media Design Team!!  I'm so very honored to be a part of this team of talented ladies!

All of my Honey Bee posts will be on Instagram (click on link to the left, if you'd like to see all of them).   I am going to try to be sure and share my creations here with more details too.

In all of my excitement, I kind of went over the top for this first project.  I created four notecards with a matching box to hold them.  I've listed all of the Honey Bee Stamps and Honey Cuts I used below.

It's been so very cold here (at least for our part of Texas) and I wanted something that makes me think of warmth and spring!  These adorable bees and flowers were just right!  I made four notecards that are smaller than an A2 card at 3-3/4" x 5" in size.  I think this set would make a great gift for someone special!

You know that die cuts can make a great stencil, right?  I used the top layer of the Honey Bee Honey Cuts Hexagon Cover plate die to cut a stencil for the box.  Then I used some Distress Ink through the stencil.  Before I assembled the box top I embossed it with the Hexagon Stipple Layer.

I made the bee double sided by mirror stamping it so that I could glue a tab between the two layers.  I cut a slit in the box top and inserted the tab so the bee will stand up in his little bunch of flowers!  :)

You can shop for all of these wonderful Honey Bee Stamps supplies here.  Thank you so very much for taking a look!

Buzzing By to Say...

I'm using some of my favorite stamps from Honey Bee Stamps here.  I'm entering this into Darnell's NBUS challenge where we are challenged to use supplies that haven't been used.  I'll note which ones fall into that category below in the supply list.

The details are HERE
It's been a busy month and haven't had so much time for creating and coloring as I'd like.  Kathy Racoosin of The Daily Marker has also been hosting her 30-day coloring challenge.  I've posted some other things on Instagram (see my link in the right side bar) but not nearly as much as I'd like.  This counts as I colored the flowers and bees with my Spectrum Noir markers.  Yay!  :)

Don't know what it is about these bees, but I think they are just too cute!  Thanks so much for taking time to look!

OCC Simmer & Shine, Embossing Powder

Totally love Julie Ebersole's 2-step glitter overlay technique in this lesson of Online Card Classes!

I've had Judikin's Sticky Stuff embossing powder for a long time and never really understood how to use it until Julie showed us how!!  Instead of using a solid stamp, I used a  honeycomb stencil from from Honey Bee Stamps.  You can tell by looking at my history of card making that I don't usually go for the cute critters.  I like them all, but just not my style...usually!  When I saw this newest release from Honey Bee, I just loved them!!  These bees are totally adorable!!

I can just imagine a special someone getting this card and opening the little beehive door and seeing this so cute bee face staring back!

Such great sparkle!!!!  Added in some shine with Glossy Accents on the bee's black stripes too.

Thanks so much for taking a look!
