Go Hog Wild!, Art Impressions

Hello!  It's Week 2 of Art Impressions' Die Cut Beyond Edge Challenge.  We are featuring the new flip card stamps and the coordinating die.

For my card today I used the Warthog Flip Card set.  Did you know that a warthog is the animal that inspired the character Pumbaa in "The Lion King"?  I didn't remember that and did some warthog research.  In real life they are not very attractive as I saw when looking at the information found HERE.  It's a good thing that Bonnie Krebs (Illustrator) made these warthogs happy and friendly looking!

The Flip Card Die set comes with the piece to cut and score the flip part.  It also has this Happy Birthday die along with the numbers 0 through 9 to add if you wanted.

I used Versafine Onyx black ink to stamp the images onto watercolor paper using my MISTI.  I added some clear embossing powder, then heat set.  I used a few Distress Ink pads and re-inkers along with a few watercolor markers to color these.  I smooshed the ink pads onto my glass mat or scribbled the markers and picked up the color with my paintbrush.  All of the colors are listed below.

I stamped the Time To Celebrate and Go Hog Wild sentiments (included with the set) in Gather Twigs Distress Oxide ink.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you'll enter into this challenge so I can see what you've created!  Happy crafting!

  1. Talk about fun!! Beautifully colored warthogs, Carol! I agree, for real warthogs are NOT cute, but these are and they are perfect for this great flip card design!! Hugs, Darnell
