Rustic Country Barn

Finally getting some time to play with the Art Impressions' stamps I got at the Scrapbook Expo.....in March!!   LOL!

I totally love the barn in the Old Barn Mini Set!  With this I also used a tree from the Covered Bridge Mini Set along with the mini grass and a couple of little flower stamps.

When I saw the current AI Challenge #211 "Create A Background," I wondered how to incorporate a background here.  I finally settled on making a background using the tree from the Covered Bridge set and shadow stamped it for the matte to go behind the main image.

Details for the challenge are HERE
I'm also entering this into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes" featuring AI products.  The challenge info is HERE.

Thank you very much for taking a look!

Sending Love & Hugs

I recently won this beautiful Poppy Border background stamp from The Ton just by leaving a comment on one of their daily release blog post!  How about that!

I'm still loving the colors from the current challenge so I've made another card to enter using my new stamp.

Details here

I used quite the variety of watercolor mediums (listed below) to color this card after heat embossing in white.

I really love how this turned out---AND not a speck of glitter or sparkle of a sequin!!  :)  Thank you so very much for taking a look!

Supplies:
The Ton stamps:  Poppy Border background, Dearest Peony for sentiment
Distress Inks:  Abandoned Coral, Peacock Feathers
Zig Clean Color markers:  Light Carmine, Light Pink
Marvy LePlume II No. 86 African Violet
Peerless Water Colors: Geranium Pink, Japonica Scarlet

Hello, Gorgeous!

I totally love the colors presented in The Ton Stamps Color Pallet Challenge for June, 2017.

Details here.
I've been going through my stash looking at things I've had for a long time and trying to use them.  For whatever reason, I purchased two of these blank, unfinished wooden tags!  Anyone relate?  Anyway, this was my starting point to come up with something using these beautiful colors!   I first stamped the Wishful Wildflowers in navy ink then re-stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I used Zig Clean Color markers to watercolor them.

I lost count of how many times I switched directions and changed the colors/textures on the tag!  Then I had to decide how to arrange the florals from Wishful Wildflowers.  After it was finally done I have something that I can present!  I went WAY out of my comfort zone creating this project, but it was fun to get my fingers inky and paint stained!

Thanks so much for taking a look!

Supplies:

From my stash:  ribbons, trim, beads sequins, corrugated paper, doily, miscellaneous stencils

Honey Bee Just for YouI

I really, really like these bees and all the goodies that go with them from Honey Bee Stamps!

I had an "out of the box" idea to try by weaving ribbon through two of the Hexagon Cover Plate dies (also from Honey Bee Stamps).  I used the bottom and middle layers.  Here are a couple photos of the process:
I added tape runner along the bottom, folded the ribbon over & trimmed the ends.
I turned the middle sized die cut "upside down" to have the small slits to weave the ribbon.
I die cut a white and black circle to have a base for the flowers and sentiment (& also to break up the busy background some).

Thanks so much for looking!

Supplies:
Honey Bee Stamps, dies:  Hexagon Cover Place bottom & middle layers; Busy Bees; Build-A-Bee; Sending You sentiments
Spectrum Noir alcohol markers
Glossy Accents
yellow ribbon from my stash

Bears Love Pink Too!

This stamp set from Ellen Hutson, Essentials By Ellen called Courage is so awesome!  They are donating $25 from each purchase to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  I didn't hesitate to get it as one of my very good friends is a survivor.  Also, my sweet mother-in-law had a double mastectomy in the early 1960's and lived a wonderful life until the age of 88!  As most of us, I know those whose lives were cut short by this terrible disease too.

So, this card is another that I will be sending to my sweet survivor friend as she continues the walk for a cure---she's walking three 3-day, 6-mile walks this year!!  Each event has a postal address to mail encouraging cards to.  I'll be sending one to each of the cities she'll be walking in!  :)

It's been raining the last three days (thankfully) and the sun peeked out for a bit today, so I had to have a bit of it in my photo!

I'm adding this to the Ellen Hutson June Mix It Up Challenge: BCRF.  Get the info HERE.

Thank you for looking and support the cause for the cure---however you can!!
