You Make The World A Better Place -- A Beautiful Lighthouse Ocean Scene Card

Hello friends! I love sending cards to friends and family that sends the message of how wonderful they are. Today's card is just that type of card! This one features Honey Bee Stamps beautiful Light The Way stamps and dies with the sentiment set Be The Light stamps and coordinating dies.  If you would like to see some of my process to make this card, please head over to my Instagram to see a reel I will be posting soon.

To create this scene, I began with an A2 sized piece of 80# cardstock. First I stamped the sand from the Light The Way stamp set in a kraft colored ink. I stamped it once across the bottom of the cardstock, then shifted to the right and stamped it again, just above the first stamping. I used a blender brush to ink on the same color of ink.

Next I used another blender brush and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to add blue to the sky background. I left some areas white to give the look of clouds.

Next, on a separate piece of cardstock, with my MISTI I stamped the other elements from the Light The Way stamp set. I stamped the lighthouse, sailboat, and sandpiper with Intense Black ink. I colored these with my Copic markers.

Then I stamped the water with a teal ink and a gray ink for the rocks. To color the rocks I used a few gray Copic markers. I added a lighter teal ink to the water with a blender brush. I cut the items out with the coordinating Light The Way Honey Cuts.

Next I used glue to adhere the water to the piece. Then I trimmed the stamped panel to 4" x 5-¼". Before I added anything else, I put the rising sun stamp from the Light The Way set onto a stamp block and stamped it with a warm yellow ink. I also stamped the birds and clouds at this time.

Before I glued the panel to my card base, I adhered the rock die cut with foam dots and trimmed the excess off at the edge. I used glue and foam dots to adhere the lighthouse, trees, bird and sailboat to the card.

Have you checked out the Be The Light sentiment stamps? My goodness, there are so many kind and uplifting sentiments to choose from! I stamped my chosen sentiment with black ink and used the coordinating Be The Light die to cut it out.

I love this peaceful scene, and hope you do too! Be sure to check out the Light The Way stamp set as there are other wonderful elements for scene building in the set that I did not use.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope it's a good day with lots of crafting too!

Beach Scene Card with Ink Blending A Sunset

Hello crafty friends!!  I love going to the beach and just love all of the beach themed items in Honey Bee Stamps new Sunkissed Summer release!  Today my sunset beach scene card features the Palm Beach Cover Plate with the coordinating stencils and one of the adorable houses from the Lovely Layers: Beach Houses Honey Cuts.

Did you know that the Palm Beach Cover Plate does not cut?  It presses this beautiful beach scene into your cardstock. To accentuate the embossed details, I used my tan embossing mat when I passed the piece through my die cutting machine.

Then I used ink blending brushes and various inks to add color through the six Palm Beach stencils. For the ocean I used Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.  The sunset is Mustard Seed, Crackling Campfire, Tumbled Glass, and Uncharted Mariner Distress inks.

When I was finished with each of the stencils in the Palm Beach stencil set, I trimmed the piece just a tiny bit. This gave me a white border of about 1/8" showing when I glued it to my A2 card base.

Next I chose one of the beach houses in the Lovely Layers: Beach Houses set and die cut it from 80# Neenah. I also die cut the palm trees, coconuts, ladder, fish, and a few other items.  I used mostly the same inks I used for the Palm Beach stencils to color all of the Beach Houses items.

I downloaded and printed the awesome Layering Guide that can always be found just below the product description on the website.  I used this guide to easily assemble the pieces with glue.

I used foam dots and foam squares to adhere all of the Beach House elements to the card.

Next I stamped a sentiment from the Rest & Relaxation stamp set with black ink. Then I cut it out with the coordinating Honey Cut.  I adhered it to the card with some foam strips.

I would love to have a sweet little house on the beach nestled into a grove of palm trees! How about you? Of course, I imagine that there is a back porch to sit out and enjoy all of the beautiful sunsets too!

Thanks so very much for stopping by.  I hope your day is awesome with lots of crafty time!
