Hello, crafty friends! Today is release day for Simon Says Stamp's Joy For You release! I have two holiday cards I'm sharing today using some of the awesome products available now!
Here is the first of two cards I've made. This one features these new products:
- Classic Cardinal die set
- Fresh Pine Sprigs die set
- Pinecone Bough embossing folder
- Reverse To You and Yours EZ strips
I used the beautiful Pinecone Bough embossing folder to create my background layer for the A2 card. It's trimmed to 4" x 5-¼" and glued to the card base.
I die cut the Fresh Pine Sprigs dies six times from green cardstock. I wanted them to look snowy and sparkly. The DecoArt Snow-Tex and Simon's Unicorn Confetti glitter gave the sprigs just the look I wanted!
Next I die cut white cardstock with the dies in the Classic Cardinal die set. I did quick and simple coloring with my Copic markers and glued the layers together. I love cardinals, and this one is really beautiful!
I arranged the Pine Sprigs onto the card front and popped the cardinal up with some foam squares. The sentiment is from the new Reverse To You and Yours EZ strips. There are four styles of coordinating dies for all of the EZ Strips sets. Check them out in the list below. Also, they are super easy to cut apart with a paper trimmer, as I did.
My second card features these new sets:
First I masked off the edges of an A2 card panel with removable tape. I used blending brushes to blend an ombre teal background with two Altenew inks and then removed the tape.
Next I stamped the three solid stamps in the Decorative Ornaments stamp set using three sets of Pawsitively Saturated inks (see list below). I used my MISTI to stamp each ornament in an ombre pattern. I began with the lightest shade of each ink, tapping it onto the upper portion of each stamp. I used a clean paper towel to lightly blot the hard line of the ink color. I stamped that, then repeated the steps for each shade of ink.
There are dies, linked below, for these, but it was simple to use my scissors to fussy cut them out.
I used the Fresh Pine Sprigs dies to cut some green cardstock for the upper portion of the card.
Next I went back to the inked layer and stamped it with a sentiment from the Decorative Ornaments stamp set. I stamped it with VersaMark ink, added silver embossing powder, and heat set it. I also did a bit of preliminary planning for my placement of the ornaments. Then I used a VersaMark pen to draw lines and heat set the silver embossing powder.
I glued the panel to an A2 card base. Then I used foam adhesive and glue to adhere the Decorative Ornaments and the Fresh Pine Sprigs to the card.
I really love so many of the products in the Joy For You release. Check it out and see what you may want for your crafty stash.
