Altenew Academy Cards, The Beginning

Well, I have to say, I'm pretty excited to have been accepted into the Altenew Educator Certification Program.  For this first level, I need to complete 10 of their Altenew Academy classes.

These next two cards are the result of the first two classes I've finished.

This card is for the All About Layering Class.  There were some beautiful C&S cards, which were my inspiration.  Yep, this is about as C&S as I seem to get!  LOL!  For my first card for this course, I pulled out my very favorite Beautiful Day set.  This is a lovely layered floral stamp that I have used so many times.  My technique includes the layered stamping plus stamping on the card base at the same time (don't know what that's called!)  I used Label Love for the sentiment.  Altenew inks are: Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart, and Purple Wine.

The next lesson I completed is Easy Die Cutting Techniques.  I was inspired by the lesson on inlaid die cutting.  I used the Floral Shadow set and stamped the lighter colored branches on a 4.25" x 5.5" card.  I then used the die for that stamp to die cut 3 branches out of the card.  I stamped more branches in Volcano Lake and die cut those.  I was going to inlay them, but then decided to pop them up for the dimension.   The sentiment is from the same set and was also stamped in Volcano Lakes.

Thanks so much for taking a look!  So appreciated! :)

  1. Hello Carol!! Your first entry is awesome! GREAT layering with the Beautiful Day Set. For the 2nd card, I love the monochromatic theme that you chose and the use of shades of green is spot on! I am so glad that you enter your beautiful work in Altenew AECP assignment Gallery. Awesome details and design! Super work!

  2. Wheeeeeeee! I'm so becited for you, Carol, but not surprised that they accepted you! Your creativity and talent are always an inspiration to me and these two cards leave me in awe! I can't wait to continue to learn through you!! Hugs, Darnell

  3. These two cards are just lovely! Great job. I went to a stamp show this past Friday, and I purchased my first Altenew stamp. Love it, I wish I would have (could have) purchased more!
