Altenew April Release Blog Hop + Huge Giveaway ($300 in total prizes!)

Hello friends!  I'm thrilled to be joining in the blog hop to celebrate Altenew's amazing April 2025 release!  My card features the Arched Foliage Craft Your Life Project Kit.  Read on to see how I got two cards from one stamp!

This hop is filled with lots of awesome inspiration for the Altenew April release.  The link for each stop on the hop is below.  If you would like to start at the beginning, please head over to the Altenew Card Blog.

 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Craft Your Life Project Kit subscriptions are my most favorite among all of the subscriptions that Altenew offers.  I love that the kit includes a stamp set with coordinating dies, a simple coloring stencil, and a 3D embossing folder!  All of my favorite things in one kit!

This months Arched Foliage Craft Your Life Project Kit includes a large, beautiful arched foliage stamp that I cut into two pieces to make two cards!  This stamp would also be gorgeous on scrapbook layouts!

As I do most of the time, I used the Arched Foliage Simple Coloring Stencils to color the image before I stamped it.  I like to do this so I eliminate any chance of smearing the black ink.  It's actually very easy!

This is when the awesome Stampwheel 2.0 came in handy with its larger size.  I removed the side piece and had plenty of room to use the stencils with my Mini Blending Brushes and the inks from the Green Meadows Fresh Dye Ink set.

I have to say that I seriously debated on whether or not to stamp over the stenciling.  Just look at how beautiful it is without the stamping!

As you can see, I finally decided to go ahead and stamp the Arched Foliage.  I laid the stamp over the stenciled image, making sure it was lined up top-to-bottom and side-to-side.  Pick up the stamp with the Flip Plate.  PRO TIP:  Place the packaging acetate over the stenciled image, ink up the stamp, and stamp onto the acetate.  This is a great way to make sure your stamp is lined up with the stenciled image!  If it's lined up, then remove the acetate and stamp directly onto the stenciled panel.

The Arched Foliage is just as beautiful with the stamp!

I planned on where to cut the Arched Foliage into two pieces and used my paper trimmer to cut it apart.

The Foil Leaf stencil was inked with Misty Morning Fresh dye ink, trimmed and then matted with a piece of Sweet Leaf Crafty Necessities Cardstock for the background.

The sentiments on both cards are a few of many that are included with the Arched Foliage stamp set.  The dies for the large main sentiments are included in the Arched Foliage Die Set.

My second card features the beautiful Arched Foliage 3D Embossing Folder for the background.  To add even more depth to the embossed piece I used a brayer to ink on Lost Shadow Distress Ink onto the more smooth side of the embossing folder.  Then I added my paper to the folder and ran it through my die cutting machine.

All of the card elements are adhered with Instant Dimension Foam Tape.  I added a bit of bling to each card with some enamel dots from the Green Meadows Enamel Dots set.

Thank you for stopping by my blog--you are so appreciated!!  Be sure to leave a comment here and at each stop along the way for your chance to win an awesome prize!

Altenew February 2025 Release Blog Hop + Awesome Giveaway

Hello friends!  I'm so happy to be a part of Altenew's Blog Hop to celebrate their amazing February 2025 Release.

By leaving a comment below, and on each stop of this hop, you will be entered to win an awesome prize!  Keep reading for the details below.  If you would like to start at the beginning, please head over to the Altenew Blog.  There are so many talented creators on this hop, so please go visit them all!  I have the list below.

For my card today, I've used several new products including the gorgeous Craft-A-Flower: Bearded Iris!  Bearded Iris are one of my most favorite flowers and my colors are inspired by a variety I have grown in my garden!

Can you believe that I colored these gorgeous Bearded Iris with ONE ink color and ONE Detailed Blending Brush?!!  It is true!  I used a size 10 Detailed Blending Brush (angled) and Midnight Violet Fresh Dye Ink to color each petal of the Craft-A-Flower: Bearded Iris.

By turning the angled Detailed Blending Brush and just using the tip of the angle, you can get some amazing effects with your ink blending!  To get more coverage of ink at the base of the petals I used a Mini Blending Brush.

I colored the leaves with three of the inks in the Tropical Forest Fresh Dye Ink collection and a Mini Blending Brush.

I added these gorgeous flowers to a background I made with a panel of Deep Iris Crafty Necessities Cardstock.  Have y'all tried the new Shimmer Relief Pastes?  If not, let me just say that these pastes are truly the best because they spread like butter and have so much gorgeous shimmer!!

I used stencil 3 in the Patterned Petals Builder Stencil Set and spread Pearl Shimmer Relief Paste through it with a pallet knife.  Once the paste was dry, I used a Mini Blending Brush with Deep Iris ink and the stencil 4 Patterned Petals stencil to add more detail.  Then I blended more Deep Iris ink around the edges of the panel

I used glue and Instant Dimension Foam Tape to adhere the Bearded Iris flowers and leaves to the card.  The stencil is from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Garden Whispers stamp set and stamped with Obsidian black ink.  I cut it out with the coordinating die.

I hope you've seen some inspiration at my stop for using this beautiful Craft-A-Flower: Bearded Iris set!  Be sure to comment here and at each stop along the way to increase your chances of winning one of these fabulous prizes!!

Bold Blooms Floral Die Cut Card

Happy Saturday!  Today I'm participating in an Instagram hop with Altenew to celebrate their January 2025 release!  Of course, Altenew is offering amazing prizes to be drawn (January 16) amongst all of the comments!  Click the Instagram photo in the left side bar here to join us for lots of beautiful inspiration!

I wanted to share a few details about my card.  This features the absolutely beautiful, and limited edition, die set call Bold Blooms!  Limited edition means that once it's gone, it's gone, and will not be restocked!

The Bold Blooms die set has dies for the florals and outline piece plus a solid die to use as a backer to build your die cuts upon!  I die cut each twice.  Once from 100# white cardstock and again from Brushed Gold cardstock.

I used Mini Blending Brushes (my favorite brushes!) to add purple ink from the colors in the Shades of Purple set.  I colored the leaves with Olive and Moss inks from the Tropical Forest collection.

I love the font of this sentiment from the Craft Your Life Butterfly Garden stamp set!  After I stamped it with embossing ink and added gold embossing powder, I set it with my heat tool.  I used detail scissors to hand cut it out.

After I adhered the sentiment with foam tape, I decided to add a bit of bling!  I used a few gems from the Rhodonite Gem Sparkles set to add just a touch of sparkle.

I love this Bold Blooms set for the many possibilities there are for creating with it!  Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to check out the Instagram hop!

Thank you for using my affiliate links to shop (never any additional cost to you)!

Altenew: A Year In Review: Crafters' Edition Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello crafty friends!  I have been so honored to have had the chance to guest design for Altenew this year, and I'm so thrilled to be participating in the Year In Review blog hop!  And there are some awesome prizes--keep reading for the details!

We were to choose four of our most favorite Altenew projects from 2022, and let me tell you, that wasn't easy!!  There is lots of gorgeous inspiration in this hop and I have the complete hop lineup listed below.  If you would like to start from the beginning, head over to the Altenew card blog.  You should have arrived here from the blog of Karen Reátegui!

Now onto my four favorite Altenew cards!

This card featuring the Craft-A-Flower: Cape Marguerite die set is by far my most favorite card I made for 2022!  I just love how the dimensional flowers just pop off of the dark blue background that was embossed with the Angled Mosaic 3D embossing folder!  Check out all of the details of this beautiful card on this blog post.

Next up is the card I made using the gorgeous Bountiful Bouquet stamp set and coordinating dies.  I absolutely love the colors of the Sweet Dreams ink cube set!  See all of the details on my blog post.

This card features the beautiful Build-A-Garden: Magnificent Branch stamp.  I could have created two cards from this beauty, but I just wanted to feature the entire image on one card.  This blog post has all of the details of my coloring.

I created these two cards from one panel where I used the embossing folder that was in the Craft Your Life: Seasonal Blooms Project Kit.  After I colored the gorgeous image, I cut it in two to make the cards.  Check out the details HERE.

**************************************************

I have to say that I enjoyed coloring the Seasonal Blooms stamp with the Seasonal Blooms Simple Coloring stencil so much!!!  And then, oh my, the die that cuts it out along the top edges is perfection!

I stamped the Seasonal Blooms stamp in Jet Black ink.  Then I used the Ink Blending Tools and the Detail Blending Brushes with the Simple Coloring Stencil to color the flowers and leaves.  All of the inks I used, and other products, are linked at the end of this post.

Then I used the coordinating Seasonal Blooms die to cut it out.  I adhered it to a a white card panel that I embossed with the Areca Palm 3D embossing folder.  I love the extra interest it adds to the background.  I heat embossed the sentiment from the stamp set with black embossing powder onto vellum.  To adhere it without the adhesive showing here's a tip!  Use mini glue dots, roll them up, and then place in various areas behind the embossed sentiment!

This next card uses the gorgeous Blooming Through the Seasons 3D embossing folder!  I have to admit, I wanted to keep this card much lighter in the colors, but it really is so difficult for me to do!  Haha!

I used the Seasonal Blooms Simple Coloring stencil set to help me color the raised portions.  Now, to be honest, the stencils do not line up exactly with the embossed images, and that's okay!  It was super easy to just place the stencil for each section and then move it slightly to color the next!

I added the hello sentiment from the Seasonal Blooms coordinating die set.  I love that it has the shadow layers for the sentiments!

I sure hope you've found some inspiration on my stop on this amazing hop!  Be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win before you hop on.

Your next stop in the hop is the so amazingly talented Daniel Diaz!
