Birthday Card Filled With Sweetness!!

Happy Wednesday friends! Today I'm sharing my sweet birthday card featuring a few of the new products from the awesome Honey Bee Stamps Celebrate release! Ice cream is my favorite dessert so I just had to use these dies from the Lovely Layers: Cupcakes & More Honey Cuts!

First I created the card base and layers by die cutting a piece of patterned paper from the Let's Party paper pad with the largest Lovely Layouts: Party Frames die set. I adhered it to an A2 card base with Bee Creative glue. I die cut vellum with the next largest die and set it aside to work on the other card elements.

Next I die cut 80# white cardstock with the ice cream cone and ice cream scoop dies (x 3) from the Lovely Layers: Cupcakes & More set. Then I used Detail Blender Brushes to add inks to the die cuts. I used various inks in my stash to imitate chocolate and strawberry ice cream. I used the new BeeLuxe Blending Brushes to add darker shading to the ice cream scoops. These small angled brushes make it easy to keep the ink just where I wanted!  I added shading to the vanilla scoop with Copic marker E50, blending it some with the 0 marker.

When I first saw the Lovely Layers: Party Blower Honey Cuts, I had a thought wondering if it would work to die cut tissue paper with the two fringe dies. I was delighted to find that it works great and creates a fun and fluffy fringe for the party blower! I die cut three layers of tissue paper with the two dies and glued the layers together. I coordinated the die with the background by cutting more paper from the Let's Party paper pad. If you need assistance assembling the party blower, be sure to check out the handy and downloadable layering guide found in the product description.

I stamped the sentiment from the Celebrating You stamp set with black ink. Then I cut it out with the coordinating die and added foam strips to the back.

A Beautiful Ocean Themed Card with Stencils, Paper Pouncers, & Paper Glaze

Happy Friday!  Today I'm sharing my card I made with Picket Fence Studios new A Sea Turtle's Journey stamps and coordinating dies.  I used several other fun new products to make this card that you can read about below.

The background is a panel from the new Coral to Aqua to Turquoise Ombre Toner Card Stock.  The cool thing about this cardstock is that it can be used as is like I've done, or since it is a toner paper, you can add foil and run it through your Minc or laminator!

I added Cream Puff Paper Glaze Velvet, from the sampler pack called Ocean Odyssey, through the Ocean Waves 6x8 stencil.  I set it aside to dry and cleaned up my tools.  There are two other gorgeous colors in the sampler pack too!

Next I stamped all of the turtles from the A Sea Turtle's Journey stamp set with Black Hybrid ink.  Then I cut them out with the coordinating dies.  I used one turtle for this card and will save the others for another project.  Next I used these new Paper Pouncers to add three shades of ink to the turtle.  (Inks are in the list below.)

I added two die cuts of the Layering Flora: Over-sized Ornamental Grass Die.  These were cut with white cardstock and then quickly colored with Paper Pouncers.  A TIP I forgot to mention above is to use a Paper Inking Palette to hold these intricate die cuts while you color them!  These are so helpful!!

The sentiment is from Signature Quotes: The Sea stamp set, stamped with black ink, and then cut out with the coordinating die.

I added just a touch of bling with a few sequins from the Tropical Breeze sequin mix.

I really love how this card turned out.  It was so fun to make with all of the different techniques too!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful and crafty weekend!

Rainbow Balloons Congratulations Card

The Simon Says Stamp Celebrate release is available now!  Check out the Celebrate release graphic below to see the awesome variety of products included in this release.

My fun card features the new Grad Balloons stamp set.  I used Pint-sized Paper Pouncers to add the ink to the stamp.  Using my MISTI allowed me to ink up and stamp one color at a time for the rainbow colors.  All of the Pawsitively Saturated Inks I used are in the list below.

When I finished stamping, I used my scissors to cut out the image.  I went digging through my stash of ribbons and twines and found bits of bakers twine in a variety of colors to use for the balloon strings.  This is why we hoard those little bits, right?!  LOL!

I popped up the Grad Balloons image with foam tape and adhered it to the panel I embossed with Altenew's Bunch of Balloons 3D embossing folder.  Then I gathered the strings together and adhered the sub sentiment over it.

This stamp set has two graduation cap images that could be added for the upcoming graduations.  I made mine more generic to be able to use for multiple occasions.

A Floral Shaker Card for Your Friend With A Mailable Card Stand

Hello crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing my shaker card that features Honey Bee Stamps new Squared Spring Florals stampsHoney Cuts, and coordinating coloring stencils.  I love the design of this stamp with the flowers spilling from the upper left corner! I've also made a card stand with the new Ornate Card Stand Honey Cut that can be mailed with the card! How fun it would be to receive a card with a matching stand to display it? Read on for all of the details.

First I used the Squared Spring Florals stencil set and blender brushes to color the image.  I used Distress Oxide inks in the colors of Abandoned Coral, Peacock Feathers, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, and Rustic Wilderness. Then I placed the piece into my MISTI and centered the Squared Spring Florals stamp over the image. I stamped it with Intense Black ink.

The Squared Spring Florals Honey Cuts have dies for all of the sentiments as well as a die to cut out the floral image and a die to cut out just the center square. So many options! As you can see from the photos, I just used the center square die to cut the opening for my shaker window. After I added a piece of acetate to the back of the opening, I added The World's Best foam tape around the opening and all of the edges. I sprinkled in my sequins and closed the opening with another piece of acetate. This makes it easy to adhere the card to your card base.

After I stamped the sentiment in black ink and cut it out with the coordinating die, I used Bee Creative Glue to adhere it to the shaker window. I added pretty yellow gems from the Let's Party Gem Stickers.

Next I die cut the Ornate Card Stand from some coordinating teal cardstock. Since I've had this Gilded Distress Foundry Wax for quite some time (and have NOT even tried it!) I thought I'd add some gold touches to the stand. I followed the directions on the bottle and added the wax with an old paint brush. TIP: I held the brush almost sideways to the cardstock to lightly brush it on in a more natural looking way. To set the wax, you use your heat tool over it and it becomes so pretty and shiny!

This was super fun to make! It was so easy and quick, that I am going to try to make more to send with the cards I mail. This next photo shows how pretty it looks with the card!

I hope you've enjoy my post today and have been inspired to try out the Ornate Card Stand for your cards! Thanks so very much for stopping by!

No Stitching Floral Card with Spellbinders Stitching Die of The Month

Today I'm sharing my card I made from Spellbinders April Stitching Die of The Month and the Embossing Folder of the Month clubs.

This month I decided to share how the stitching dies make a beautiful card, even with no stitching!  What do you think?

I embossed Fruit Punch cardstock with the April embossing folder called Faux Stitched Petal.  After I trimmed it to 4-¼" x 5-½" I glued it to an A2 card base.

Then I die cut the flowers and leaves the Stitching Die of the Month from colored cardstock.  All of the cardstocks are linked in the list below.  I die cut the embroidery hoop from white textured cardstock and brown cardstock I have in my stash.

It was easy to assemble the hoop and flowers with glue.  I decided to add just a simple French knot to the center of each flower.  I used six strands of yellow embroidery floss for each knot.  Then I adhered all of the elements to the card with glue and popped up each flower with a foam square.

It was that easy to make!  Be sure to check out the details of the April clubs over at Spellbinders.  You can choose one club to join or several during the signup window of the 6th through the 27th.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful week!

Two Easy Cards Using Patterned Paper Scraps

Today I'm sharing two cards I made featuring Brass & Bliss Craft Co.'s Open Greenery #2 dies.  These cards are examples of great ways to use up patterned paper scraps and are super quick and easy to make!

If you would like to read all of the detailed steps for making these cards, please join me over on my post on the Brass & Bliss blog.

I love finding ways to use up some of the patterned paper leftovers and I had several pieces from the Welcome Spring paper pad.  This paper pad has solid colored paper to coordinate with the patterned papers so it was easy to layers these up!

This first card features a pink floral with the matching solid paper.  I die cut the Open Greenery #2 die from white and pink paper to coordinate with the layered strips.

Before I adhered the die cut greenery pieces, I added an extra special touch by using my stylus and scoring board to add embossed lines on either side of the layered strips.

This card was so easy to make so I made another with scraps of purple floral and solid papers.

It's so easy to duplicate a card like this once you already have the design and elements to use in mind.

The sentiments on both cards are from the Kittie Says Phrases #1 stamp set.  There are lots of sentiments in this set that are fitting for different occasions!

Thanks so very much for stopping by!  I hope your week is filled with lots of fun card making fun!

Fun and Sassy Birthday Shaker Card

Hello crafting friends! Today I'm sharing a fun shaker card with some new products from the Honey Bee Stamps new Celebrate release.  This release is filled with fun birthday stamps and dies, and also, all of the flowers we love!  The It’s A Party stencil set that I'm using today creates such a fun background for your birthday cards! I've paired that with the Big Birthday die and a perfectly hilarious sassy sentiment!

I started out by making the stenciled panel with the It's A Party stencil set on a 5-½" square piece of white cardstock. There are six layers and I used a few different Distress Oxide inks with detail blender brushes to color through each stencil.  I used Peacocks Feathers, Kitsch Flamingo, Wilted Violet, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, and Abandoned Coral.

Next I trimmed the stenciled panel 4” x 5-½”. Then I die cut the hat and present from the leftover strip with the coordinating It’s A Party Honey Cuts

For the panel to lay flat in the new Bee Creative A2 Shaker Pocket, I trimmed just a bit more of the top and one side of the stenciled piece.  Then I removed the protective film from the shaker pocket and placed the panel face down onto the pocket.  Next I removed the adhesive backing from the bottom and sides of the pocket and pressed the tabs over into the card panel.

Use your bone folder, if needed, to firmly press the tabs down and crease the fold. Then I poured in some pretty sequins from my stash through the top opening and sealed the top tab.  I used ¼" double-sided Sticky Red Tape to adhere the shaker to my A2 card base.

I die cut the top layer of the Big Birthday die from white cardstock three times. I colored one of the layers with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink using a blender brush . I die cut two more from white cardstock and layered them all together with glue.  Then I glued the stack to the shadow.  I added red tape to the back to adhere it to card front.

I chose this sub sentiment from the Mini Messages: Sassy Birthday stamp set to go along with the Big Birthday die. I think this sentiment is so funny with this large die cut! After I stamped it in black ink I used my paper trimmer to cut it into a strip. I adhered it with some foam strips. The extra party hat and gift are adhere with foam.

I sure hope you've enjoyed my shaker card making process today! Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and crafty week!

A Copic-Colored Floral Eclipse card -- For Eclipse Day!

Today I'm sharing a few details here of this eclipse (how fitting for today's actual eclipse--LOL) card I made with Picket Fence Studios beautiful Brighter Days Gerbera Daisy set.  I have a reel over on my Instagram to show some of the process to make it!

After I stamped the beautiful Brighter Days Gerbera Daisy with Black Hybrid Ink, I used various Copic markers to color it.  For the flower petals I used: B32, RV99, RV55, R85, R83, R01.  The leaves are G28, YG67, YG17, YG25.  NOTE:  Before I colored it I used a black Copic Multiliner pen to extend the stem to the edge of the card panel.

Then I stamped the image again onto masking paper and used my scissors to cut it out.  I placed the mask over the image and inked Tumbled Glass Distress ink through the Center Polka Dot stencil.

This next step made me a bit nervous, but I die cut the image with the You Are So Extra Die. I die cut four more from white cardstock and layered them all together with glue.  I glued the stack to the shadow that I die cut from black cardstock.

I used glue to adhere the sentiment to the card.  I really love how this turned out!

I hope you've found my eclipse card inspiring!  I'm off to watch the eclipse--our area is in the path of totality!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Spring Greetings Shaker Card

Hello friends!  Today I'm sharing this card over on Instagram as part of Honey Bee Stamps' hop to celebrate their latest release for their 9th birthday!  Just so you know, there will be two $50 gift card prizes chosen from those that leave a comment on the Instagram posts!

The new products I've used are the Storybook Spring stamps with the coordinating dies and stencils, and the Sandie's Garden 3D embossing folder.

I used Honey Bee's new Beeluxe Blending Brushes to color the image through each Storybook Spring stencil layer.  These brushes are pencil shaped and make getting into the small openings very easy.

I used Distress Inks in these colors:  Kitsch Flamingo, Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold, Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness, and Lost Shadow.  When I finished with each stencil layer I placed the panel into my MISTI.  Then I aligned each stamp over its image and picked them up with the MISTI door.  I inked up the stamps with Intense Black ink.  Then I cut them out with the coordinating Storybook Spring dies.

For the background layer, I placed a die from the Sweet Stacks Circles in the center of an A2 white cardstock panel.  After I cut out the circle, I put it into the Sandie's Garden 3D embossing folder to emboss it.

I adhered a piece of acetate to the back of the circle opening, then added strips of the World's Best Foam Tape by Pear Blossom Press around the opening and to the edges of the panel.  I've talked about this foam tape before, but if you missed it, this tape is truly amazing!!!  If you need to reposition your adhered panel, the tape is temporary for about 30 minutes!!  It becomes permanent after that.

Next I added my shaker mix, then removed the adhesive backing, and placed my A2 card base onto the panel.  I love using some of my stash of embellishments!

The sentiment from the Storybook Spring set is stamped in black ink and cut out with the coordinating die.  The cute tiny bees add a bit of extra something!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you'll click over to my Instagram to check out more inspiration from this awesome release!

Hip, Hip, Hooray! It's Your Birthday!

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing my card featuring some products from Honey Bee Stamps' new Celebrate release and it's all about spring! I've used the Lovely Layers: April Showers Honey Cuts to create this cute birthday card with spring colors. Keep reading to see how I created my matching umbrella and boots with a floral pattern!

I made the background for the Lovely Layers: April Showers with the Perfect Bricks and Grassy Hill Borders stencils. I added Mowed Lawn and Lost Shadow Distress Oxide inks through the stencils with Detail Blender Brushes. I used glue to adhere the panel to an A2 card base.

For the fun floral pattern on the umbrella and boots I used the Wonderful Wishes Honey Cuts and Coordinating Stencils. For ease of stenciling, I die cut the cake portion from white cardstock. Then I lined up each of five stencils over the die cut piece and colored it with Distress Oxide inks. I used the new Beeluxe Detail Blending Brushes to add Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness, Wilted Violet, and Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide inks. The Beeluxe Brushes are so helpful with the small details of the stencils!

Then I cut the umbrella top layer (Lovely Layers: April Showers) from the stenciled piece. Line the die up diagonally on the stenciled piece and run it through your die cutting machine.

Next I used the Lovely Layers: April Showers dies to cut the elements from purple, green, coral and white cardstock. I used more Distress Oxide inks along with the new Beeluxe Detail Blending Brushes to add depth and shading to the various elements. I used most of the Distress Oxide inks I mentioned above.

I colored the three layers of the bird with Copic markers in the colors of E25, E23, E13, and E11.

Next I used glue to adhere the layers of the April Showers elements. The Layering Guide found in the product description is very helpful for getting your layers just right.

The dots and line details you can see were added with orange and white Gelly Roll gel pens. The sentiment is from the Celebrating You stamp set, stamped in black ink, and die cut with the coordinating die.

To adhere the elements to the card, I used foam dotsfoam strips, and Bee Creative glue.

I hope you've enjoyed my process to make this colorful birthday card! Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and crafty day!
