You're In My Thoughts -- A BetterPress Letterpress Card

Today I'm sharing this beautiful letter pressed card that features Spellbinders' Kaleidoscope Garden BetterPress press plate.

If you need a card that is beautiful and super quick to make, this one is for you!  What made it even faster is the Always and Forever Sentiment Strips press plate I used.  This presses all of the sentiments in one pass and then die cuts them all together with one die!

Using my BetterPress Letter Press System I tapped Coastal BetterPress ink onto the Kaleidoscope Garden press plate.  After adhering Porcelain Cotton card to the clear plate, I ran the base through my Platinum die cutting machine.  P.S.:  The original Platinum is on sale now!!  I love the crisp, clear images you get with the BetterPress!

Next I trimmed the image and glued it to an A2 sized piece of Partly Cloudy cardstock.  I added this to a top folding card base.

I used Porcelain Cotton card and black BetterPress ink for the sentiment from the Always and Forever Sentiment Strips.  I love having one die to die cut all of the sentiments!

I added a layer of Partly Cloudy cardstock to the back of the sentiment and popped it up with foam tape strips.

The Kaleidoscope Garden press plate would work great for a variety of occasions.  Change the ink color and sentiment and color the image with your preferred medium, for totally different looks!

Hope Anchors The Soul | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello Honey Bee friends! I'm over on the Honey Bee Stamps blog today and I have three cards today featuring the beautiful Anchors The Soul stamp set.  This set is oh, so special--here is the story behind this set:

This is a very special stamp set, created with the Hurricane Dorian relief efforts in mind. 50% of all sales from this stamp set will go to these wonderful charities specifically for Hurricane Dorian relief efforts. I've made these cards in pink for a special reason.  I have a beautiful, awesome friend who is nearing her 11th year as a breast cancer survivor.  In 2009, she and I walked in our first 3-day, 60-mile walk for a cause to find a cure and end breast cancer.  I haven't walked since then (my poor feet can't) but she has walked every year since.  For the last few years she has walked in more than one in different cities.  This year, she is walking ALL seven walks!!

The cool thing is that for each city hosting a walk, you can send a participant an encouragement card that will be received at that camp!  So I've made three cards to send to her final three camps.

Each of these cards were created in a similar manner. I used the cloud stencil from the Outdoor Scene Builder Stencil set and added Tattered Rose and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide inks with a Background Blender Brush. I used Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper because I like how smoothly the ink blends on it. Each panel was then die cut with the largest A2 Double Stitched Frame die.

For the card bases, I used the largest Scallop A2 Card Frames die and cut three pieces from Neenah Solar White 80# paper. I then placed the die on a top folded card base with the top edge just slightly beyond the folded edge and ran it through my die cutting machine. This give you a pretty scalloped-edge card base. I adhered one of the single Scallop A2 Card Frame die cuts to the folded card base.

I finished this first card by stamping the sentiment onto heavy vellum with Versamark and heat embossing white embossing powder. I wrapped the vellum strip around the layer and adhered it on the back. I added a few White Gem Stickers on the anchor. The top layer of each card is popped up with foam tape.



For this next card I kept the inking a bit lighter, just for a bit of a different look. I used the Because stamp set and Honey Cuts here. I die cut "because" twice from Neenah paper, glued them together and topped it off with some Wink of Stella. I used the middle shadow die to cut a vellum layer to put behind the word. I stamped the rest of the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink, trimmed it into a strip, and popped it up with some foam squares.



It's hard to see in the photo but I also added Wink of Stella in various spots on the anchor--I do love some sparkle!!



For my final card I used the Journey stamps and Honey Cuts. I also wanted the word "each" which I found in the Fall stamp set. I did a little stamp surgery to stamp the word by itself. (Don't you totally love how so many Honey Bee sets work perfectly together?!!) The word journey is die cut three times and adhered together for extra dimension. I thought this sentiment is perfect for my walker friend!



To embellish this card, I added a few gems from the new Log Cabin Gem Stickers.
