Floral Birthday Card With Stencils and Layered Die Cuts

Hello crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing (another) card featuring one of my favorites:  Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers: Dianthus!  Birthday cards are one of my favorite types of cards to make since it is always a happy occasion!

I guess you can say I'm doing a "series" of pink cards with the Lovely Layers floral sets!  If you missed them, check out this blog post, and this one too!

The first thing I did was make my inked and texture paste background.  I used the Garden Lattice stencil set (now at a "sweet price") and a blending brush to ink Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink onto white cardstock.  Then I placed the second stencil over the panel and spread a white pearl texture paste through it.  I removed the stencil and cleaned up my tools.

While the panel dried I die cut all of the dies of the Lovely Layers: Dianthus set from white cardstock.  I used ink blending brushes to color the layers with Distress Oxide inks in these colors:  Picked Raspberry, Shabby Shutters, and Rustic Wilderness.

I used Bee Creative glue to adhere the layers together.  Refer to the downloadable Layering Guide, if needed.

With the stenciled panel dry, I used the largest die in the Spring Vine Layering Frames Honey Cuts to cut the panel out.  Then I glued it to an A2 card base.

The sentiment is from another oldie, but definitely goodie, set called Bitty Buzzwords.  I stamped the sentiments with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.  Then I cut out the "birthday" sentiment with the coordinating die and trimmed the "happy" to a strip.

I glued the Dianthus to the card.  Then I added foam tape to the sentiments to adhere them to the card.

I am loving getting my stash of birthday cards filled!  I hope you are enjoying my series of Lovely Layers florals.  Now I get to choose another set for next week's post!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful and crafty day!
