Little Blooms and Dancin' In The Rain Card

Today I sharing this sweet card that features two die sets from Spellbinders Out & About Collection!  I used the adorable Dancin' In The Rain die set (yes, the legs move!) and the Little Blooms die set.

I used some of my saved small pieces of colored cardstock to die cut the pieces of the flowers in the Little Blooms set and the sweet little person with the umbrella in the Dancin' In The Rain die set.  I die cut the pants from a scrap of blue patterned paper.  I have all of the colored cardstock I used in the links before.

Next I used glue to adhere all of the pieces together.  If you want the legs to swing do not glue the legs to the body.  There is a hole in the die cut piece for the legs that you can use to create the swinging motion.  I just used a round foam dot that was a bit smaller in size than the circle.

Before I adhered the umbrella, I used a bright yellow gel pen to add dots to the jacket.  The cute flower on the umbrella is from the Little Blooms die cuts.

It took me a minute to think of a way to "ground" my scene.  The puddle die cut is included in the Dancin' In The Rain set, but I wanted more of a ground for the flowers and duck.  My remedy was to mask off the middle section to create a watery path with blue ink and a blender brush.  I moved the tape pieces to add green ink for the grass.  I like how this turned out!

Before I adhere all the die cuts to the card layer, I used the same blue ink, diluted it, and added blue splatters to the piece.  These blue droplets will compliment the die cut raindrops!

I looked for a sentiment to go with this scene and found this one in the Hummingbird Sentiments stamp set.  I stamped it in black ink and used a corner rounder to make this unique shape.

I think the sentiment is perfect for this sweet summer rain scene.  What do you think?

I sure appreciate you stopping by today!  I hope it's a fabulous day!
