Toes in The Sand! Art Impressions

Hello to you all this Monday!  I'm on the Art Impressions blog today!  I've made this summery card featuring the Windows to The World M3178--Island Window.

"Wiggle your toes in the sands of the sea, dream of tomorrow, and all that can be."

Who wants to join me on this beach watching the sun set?!!  I do love beaches and could spend the entire summer at one!  Too bad the closest beach is about an eight-hour drive from here!  So I'll just dream of being there!

To help me dream of being at the beach, I've made this summery card featuring the Windows to The World M3178--Island Window.  I've stamped my card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored it with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers.

I added a few brads that I've had in my stash, FOREVER, as added embellishments along with the twine.  I bought them from Eyelet Outlet when they were at a local craft show.  They actually still have them here in their online store!   I just bent the brads back and forth till they broke off and used Beacon 3-in-1 glue to adhere them

Thanks for joining me today on my beachy dream!

Spectrum Noir colors used:
EB1, EB2, AB2, CT1, CT4, GY3, AG1, AG3, LG3, LG4, LG5, DG1, DG2, DG3, CR1, CR3, TB1, TB3, MB1, MB3, MB4

Art Impressions Challenge #236 Masculine Cards Week 2

Hello Ai Fans!  I'm so glad you've stopped by to see more inspiration for Week 2 of Art Impressions current challenge, which is Masculine Cards.

I've used the oh, so fun Lifetime Set for my card today.  I think I would like to know a funny, goofy guy like this one!  I've stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored everything with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

See the floor he's standing on?  It's Washi tape!  I drew a line with my Pigma Micron 05 black pen, then placed the Washi tape just along the line before die cutting.  Doing it before die cutting adds the stitched detail of the die to it, as well as pressing it firmly in place.

Here's a close up of the Glossy Accents I added to the balloons.

Thanks, again, for taking a look!  We hope you'll join in this fun challenge!

Art Impressions Magnificent Ladies!

Hello Ai Fans!

Sure hope your Monday is off to a great start!  If you need a little something to make you smile, check out these super fun girlfriends all glammed up for a fun time!

I used Crazy Friends Set 4989 for my card today.  See all the supplies and links to them over on the Art Impressions blog.   These gals are so fun and this would be great for a birthday card or even a "just because" friend card.   I stamped the ladies then colored them with my alcohol markers.

It's pretty challenging to capture in a photo the sparkle and shine I added with Glossy Accents, a Wink of Stella yellow pen, and a gold metallic pen.  This shows it here, but not as much as in real life!

I hope this card has made you smile and given you inspiration for this awesome set!  Thank you so much for coming by to take a look!

Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge Guest Designer

Woohoo!  I was so happily surprised and honored when asked to be the guest designer for Simon Says Stamp Challenge #101--Summertime Fun!  Click HERE for all the details to enter.

For me, summertime here in Texas is all about the heat, my flowers, and always, my longing to be at a beach!!!!  I created three cards for this challenge with these things in mind as my inspiration.

It is SO hot here, usually from June through at least mid September!  That's why I colored the center of the SSS Center Cut Burst stamp in sunshine colors!  I heat embossed the image in gold embossing powder and then used a few Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color it in.  I used Simon's Eyelet Arch Borders dies, Messages For Everyday, and Big Thanks Words stamp sets to finished it out.

My next card is all about my backyard flowers.  Every summer I always have at least a few varieties of Hibiscus growing in my flower pots.  Hibiscus are one of my most favorite flowers!   Thats why I HAD to have this beautiful Hibiscus Frame die as soon as it came out!  My sentiment is from SSS Thoughtful Messages.

After I die cut this and before removing the pieces from the die, I put some strips of Post-It tape on the back.  I was able to remove them and put the actual frame aside as I wanted it to remain white.  I used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to color it.

My final card is for my longing to be at the beach in the summer.  There isn't anything much better than being on the beach, listening to waves, reading a good book, and relaxing!   Being in north Texas, it is a big planned trip to get beach time.

I made a shaker card using SSS Under The Sea Animals stamps and dies.  I inked the background with Distress Oxides in Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Blueprint Sketch.  For the streaks of light in the water I used Tim Holtz's Rays stencil and Sprayed Perfect Pearls on it.  Then I added some water drops for more interest.   I adhered some Pretty Pink Posh droplets for "bubbles" on the background.  For the shaker bits I used  Queen and Company Clear Diamond toppings,  and picked a few light colored sequins from Honey Bee Stamps Mermaid sequins.

Thank you to Simon Says Stamp for having me as your guest designer for this challenge!  Thanks to YOU for stopping by to take a look!  I sure would love for you to say "hello" in the comment section!

I can't wait to see what you all create for this challenge!  Carol :)

Sweet Birthday, Art Impressions

Hello to all!  I hope your Monday is going good!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today, and I have two cards to wish a friend a sweet happy birthday!  I used the Cottage Circlet MTF (mini trifold) for both.  Do you ever stamp something twice to have one extra to try out colors and such on?  That's what I did, but was super happy that I was able to use the second one too!

I colored all the images with my Prismacolor Premier Pencils.  Having a sharp pencil makes it easy to color all of the little parts.  I've made a list of the colors I used at the end of this post.  Don't worry about my long list.  I wanted to do some shading, but these would look beautiful colored with fewer pencils too!

I have several photos for you see the card as it is opened plus all the beautiful details of this stamp set!

If you've stopped here at my blog, I so appreciate your taking the time to do so!  Thank you!

You can find a complete list of the supplies on my post here at Art Impressions.
