Altenew Academy Cards, The Beginning

Well, I have to say, I'm pretty excited to have been accepted into the Altenew Educator Certification Program.  For this first level, I need to complete 10 of their Altenew Academy classes.

These next two cards are the result of the first two classes I've finished.

This card is for the All About Layering Class.  There were some beautiful C&S cards, which were my inspiration.  Yep, this is about as C&S as I seem to get!  LOL!  For my first card for this course, I pulled out my very favorite Beautiful Day set.  This is a lovely layered floral stamp that I have used so many times.  My technique includes the layered stamping plus stamping on the card base at the same time (don't know what that's called!)  I used Label Love for the sentiment.  Altenew inks are: Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart, and Purple Wine.

The next lesson I completed is Easy Die Cutting Techniques.  I was inspired by the lesson on inlaid die cutting.  I used the Floral Shadow set and stamped the lighter colored branches on a 4.25" x 5.5" card.  I then used the die for that stamp to die cut 3 branches out of the card.  I stamped more branches in Volcano Lake and die cut those.  I was going to inlay them, but then decided to pop them up for the dimension.   The sentiment is from the same set and was also stamped in Volcano Lakes.

Thanks so much for taking a look!  So appreciated! :)

Art Impressions Challenge-Gate Fold Card

I attended the Scrapbook EXPO a couple weeks ago and took Art Impressions watercolor class, taught by the fabulous Bonnie Krebs!  When you attend their class, you get an exclusive-to-the-class stamp set that can't be bought!

I used the main image from this exclusive set as my focus along with several other stamps from different sets.  I did buy, um, a few (cough) new AI stamp sets.  Totally LOVE The Wall Texture set and just had to add the stone wall stamp in.  I made this into a gate-fold card as that is the current theme of Art Impressions' current challenge.  All the details for the challenge are HERE.

Here's what this beautiful stamp set looks like:

This style of watercoloring is so very relaxing--I was surprised how time flew when I was painting this!   Thank you very much for taking a look!

Autism Awareness Blog Hop

Hello!  I'm very happy to be participating, with Honey Bee Stamps, in a blog hop for Autism Awareness.  Honey Bee Stamps is one of many companies showing many beautiful creations, along with prizes, so be sure to go check out Honey Bee Stamps blog.  This is a day to "paint the crafting world with blue on April 2 to raise autism awareness and to celebrate all those with autism and those whose lives have been touched by autism."

The hop is organized by Veronica, on her blog at So Many Stamps So Little Time.  Go over to her blog as there are many bloggers and companies participating with many fabulous prizes offered!  You can also read her story about why she organizes this wonderful hop.

I've made this multi-shaded blue card with just a few supplies.  You can find these supplies in the Honey Bee Stamps shop, including the Distress Oxide Inks!!!   It was very quick and easy to make, yet I love how it turned out!

Here's another angle to show the dimension.

I hope you like this card, and are enjoying the beautiful creations in the hop!  I'd love to know you stopped by, so please leave a comment and say "Hi!"  Thank you for taking a look--I do appreciate you!  :)
