Online Card Classes, Day 5, Expressive Florals

It took a lot of practice for me to get to one that I felt was satisfactory enough to make into a card.  Over 1/2 dozen tries!!  Dawn is a master!!  She makes it look so easy.  I imagine my brush strokes were too "purposeful" to achieve a look close to what she was teaching us.

In spite of all of these attempts, it was still an enjoyable process.

I changed colors for the flowers, as I wasn't "feeling" the previous color.   Maybe that did it!  Haha!

Thanks so much for coming to my blog!  Hugs to the commenters!

OCC, Watercolor for Card Makers, Intermediate Techniques, Day 2

This watercoloring thing is quite mesmerizing to me.   I really enjoyed the repetition of these flowers and do feel I improved as I went along.  How time flies when watercoloring!

I watercolored a wash of the same blue onto more paper and used Avery Elle's Simply Said Hello die to cut it out.  Also die cut the same in some foam to pop it up more.  Because I do like the sparkly, I used a clear Wink of Stella on the hello.

Thank you for looking and I appreciate your comments!  :)

Online Card Classes, Day 1, Part 2

Part 2 of Day 1 of the Online Card Classes: Watercolor for Card Makers:  Intermediate Techniques.  I'm still very surprised to have completed this good enough to actually turn it into a card.

The orange/yellow was my first attempt.  Not bad, but still needed practice.  For my second attempt, I went with my favorite colors of blue and green.  Dawn is so right about how fun it is to see how many different shades can be made with just two colors!

I was pleased enough with the blue and green one that I made it into a card that I'll save to give to a guy for his birthday.

Thank you for looking!  I love hearing what you think and thank you!

Watercolor for Card Makers: Intermediate Techniques, Day 1

Yes, just finishing day one of the Online Card Classes, Watercolor for Card Makers.  I have to say that I'm somewhat surprised that a beginner, like me, can watercolor a background and turn it into a card that I will actually give to someone!  Haha!

It is all because of Dawn Woleslagle's excellent way of instructing us in the techniques for each lesson.  Dawn's video's for the lessons are so very clear and concise.

I think my pears turned out decent for the first try.  I'm left handed and that was the source of a plop into some not-quite-dry paint!!  Need to remember to begin painting on the right side of the paper! :)

Thanks for taking a look!

Crazy Birds Birthday Card

Here is a fun card I made in 2015 for our daughter's 28th birthday!  She loved it!

I just love the Tim Holtz Crazy Birds!  I used my Cricut Explore to cut the window and for the flowers a die from Heartfelt Creations.  The background paper is also from Heartfelt Creations. The coloring was done with Distress Inks.

I put some Wink of Stella on the balloons then added Glossy Accents to them and the birds' eyes.

Thanks for looking!  I love hearing what you think so please leave a comment! :)

My 2015 Christmas Card

I really had fun making this card to send to family and special friends for Christmas 2015.

The snowflake is made using dies from Heartfelt Creations Arianna Lace collection.  I used Spellbinders Fancy Tags 2 along with coordinating bling and Nestabling from Want2Scrap for the sentiment.  The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts.
